Comparing band to sleeve? I'm worried.
She still can't eat. She is extremely nauseous all the time and pukes often. I asked her if she is taking her Effexor and she said no, she is not able to take any pills at all.

Let's discuss "the foamies" and "sliming"
Well I did it again. I had my son and DIL over for dinner and their brand new 3 week old baby. I had meat loaf, (a very tiny piece) one broccoli flowerette, and one noodle. I thought I was good. Sure enough, 15 min later, the watery mouth starts up. It must have been that one noodle, huh? I have already thrown up a big wad of the foam 3 times (sorry TMI) but my mouth is still watering. I wish I would learn how to eat.

Why do women have anal sex?
Amazingly enough, there seem to be a lot of women who really like it. It really surprised me when I started this poll.

Calorie/fat/carb counting post op..
Dr. Aceves likes us to be at around 800 calories per day, mostly Protein. It's not hard unless you add in any sugary Snacks. Most Protein drinks have around 120 calories. Everyone stalls. There is no way to avoid it. Sometimes your body just wants a chance to get used to it's new weight.

My future babies
She is crazy. She doesn't have time for those kids and they call their babysitter Mommy. She is a very busy attorney. Her husband has a son, she has an adopted daughter and a bio son. So they thought they needed a child together. That makes 5 kids in all. They are on a one month vacation to Minnesota right now, so I think she is finally getting a taste of what it's actually like to be a mom to 5 kids. the babysitter/nanny didn't go with them.

Head hunger
I take my vitamins in the morning with my protein drink. That seems to work well for me.

Comparing band to sleeve? I'm worried.
Oh, I thought you told me he hasn't had complications when I told you about my friend. You said you didn't want her to be his first one. Maybe I misunderstood you. I thought the OP was saying she was worried about cancer down the road. Dr. A or no doctor for that matter has control of that.

Vitamin D
I sent them an email from their contact us link on the web site. Didn't you say that you can get your results online? I put my order # in my email. Was there something else I was supposed to do to get my results? I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait for them to contact me or what I was supposed to do. thanks!

Longterm Success??
There are other people who have had their sleeve longer at that other board. Obesity Help has a lot of people who have had the sleeve surgery. That board is very unorganized and it's hard to keep track of posts. But I am sure you will find people who have had their sleeve longer than at at this board . this board was just started in May.

Comparing band to sleeve? I'm worried.
I only gained back 15 lbs when I started having band problems. As far as I was concerned, that was 15 too many. I couldn't wait to get to Dr. Aceves and get that band out. Dr. Aceves has never had any complications. He is an excellent surgeon and is extremely experienced with band to sleeve surgeries.

My future babies
My DD got pregnant the first month she tried. She was about 1 1/2 years post op from gastric bypass. My grandson was very healthy and weighed a little over 7 lbs. She has not lost the weight she gained being pregnant though. Speaking of older moms, my boss had twins at the age of 50. She was almost 51. They were born on New Years Eve and she was 51 on March 1st.

I did it, i did it, i did it
I hate to say it, but since I lost weight, I gained wrinkles. The fat fills out the wrinkles. It's a bad trade off.

i am struggling here
It makes me wonder how I can be so different. I know we went to the same surgeon, but I can eat quite a bit of mushy food. I can eat more than I think I would be able to, actually.

Starting to get nervous....
I really like the choc. Peanut Butter that you get online from netrition.com. It's very smooth and creamy. The only thing I don't like about flying is that it's very boring.

Comparing band to sleeve? I'm worried.
I had my band removed and could not be happier. It's not like you feel different. You just can't eat as much. There is no food getting stuck, one day you can eat a certain food and the next day you can't. Life is very normal with the sleeve. Mac's aunt had this same surgery a long time ago for stomach cancer and has lived very well with it. I am not sure what complications you're thinking could come up.

I did it, i did it, i did it
I agree. You don't look your age at all!

Changed My Mind!
yeah, it would have been really nice to read about the sleeve first and save myself that 10 grand I paid for the band. It's no fun to self pay twice, but I have to say, having the band out and getting the sleeve was so worth it!

Got my date!
Oh now I am curious. Did you like it? I mix it in with water and some yogurt and that way I can make any flavor I want.

Having trouble transitioning into maintenance
I was 5'2" in H.S. and 110 lbs. I have no desire to get down to 110 now. If I was younger, that would be a different story. The more I lose, the worse my face looks. My boobs look like tube socks. If I could control where the weight comes off, that would be a different story. My neck already looks like a turkey. My legs thighs and butt look fine from weight training. My tummy doesn't look bad from stretched out skin, but I don't want to press my luck with that one either. I just want to get into the normal bmi and I will be good with that. I don't think I'll have any trouble losing too much weight, the way candy is always calling my name.

Need Answers about Sleeve Please!
I just ate a small brownie. I know my bad. I was invited for dinner, what can I say. A couple hours after we ate, dessert was offered. All I know is I feel so stuffed now, there is no way I could eat another one. In the past, I could have eaten the whole pan.

I hope someone reads this
WASa wrote some very powerful words. I am sure that it will help a lot of people who feel like they need to read something that showed them how they got where we all are today-needing weight loss surgery. That book I mentioned also is very helpful and gives specific exercises on how to change your thinking and stay motivated. It's called the Beck Solution-Train your brain to think like a thin person, by Janet Beck.

anyone have VSG with Dr. Pleatman
I can only wonder why you are not so busy that you don't have the time to cruise the message boards. I am sure you are a very nice doctor and have been kind enough on other boards to answer people's questions. However, it would seem that a busy doctor in high demand would have a busy life and not have time to look at message boards.

Surgery this Friday (PV, Mex) Tell me what to take!
yeah, most people put the heating pad on their left shoulder. That is where the gas pain ends up. I'm not sure what the heat does to move it out of the shoulder over to where it needs to go so it can come out. All I know is having the heat on my left shoulder was very soothing.
