  1. Lisa I wish you the best with your surgery. I am sure it was a difficult decision to choose the surgery that would be best for you. My daughter had the RNY 3 years ago and has put about 40 lbs back on. When she first got the RNY she could not eat sweets at all because of that dumping syndrome. That is not the case anymore. That went away and she is really struggling to not continue gaining. Keeping the weight off is the ultimate goal for all of us. I'm glad you will be checking in with us and keep us posted on how you're doing.
  2. When you're on the post op diet, most people seem to get diarrhea until their diet progresses to soft foods. Now that I am 2 months from surgery today, I don't go every day. I am surprised though that when I do go, it's still soft. I am glad because with the band, I was constipated all the time.
  3. I don't remember the number of my room. If you walk into that wing from the rest of the hospital, it was on the right. It was directly across from the nurse's station and it had a small white couch in the room.
  4. I heard the food was really good there. My friend went with her brother and he loved their food. I don't know about the cost, but I can't imagine that it would be expensive . I can ask her if you don't get some more replies, but I am sure you will.
  5. I decided to start using up my unflavored Protein powder. I mixed a banana yoplait yogurt, soy slender and a scoop of unflavored Protein Powder together in my magic bullet. I have never had a Protein shake fill me up as much as this one did. I can't even drink my Water cause I am so full and I drank that hours ago. I thought the yogurt by itself would need some liquid. Next time I will use less soy slender.
  6. Time to change your sig line to my wife is a sleever. I hope she has a smooth recovery. Try to convince her to post on here and join our family.
  7. It would be. They had a lap band gathering once where a bunch of people met in Vegas. I am not much into gambling but it would be fun to meet there and we could all stay in the same hotel. If two people stayed in the same room, it would save money. I always see deals where you get the room and airfare together for a good price. It's just something to think about for some time in the future.
  8. I have a lot of trouble finding Greek yogurt. When I made the pudding (this was a long time ago) I used Atkins RTD choc. and put the sf Jello and mixed it all together with my magic bullet. It was great but a lot of calories so I had to put it in little single serving size cups.
  9. I just figured out today that I am going to add my unflavored protein powder to yogurt. Yogurt doesn't have much protein in it. I eat it for the calcium, but I can make it have more protein.
  10. it's true. Maybe we can all meet somewhere some day. Vegas would be the perfect spot!
  11. I was in the room right across from the nurses station and I had a great connection
  12. I am leaving the chat window open in case anyone wants to come in and chat this evening!
  13. For crunchy things, I love apples with Peanut Butter on them. It's something I discovered a few months ago, but I haven't had any apples since being sleeved. Rosebud, do you like cottage cheese? It's pretty high in Protein and should be easy to eat. You could eat a little bit a teas. here and there, and that would help on your protein.
  14. That's weird that wireless won't work for you. I used Dr. Campos' computer every day after 3 pm and it worked just great.
  15. I just bought some and put them in the freezer. I am taking the Vit. D test that WASa recommends because one of the symptoms of having a vit. D deficiency is craving for sweets. I don't think the pudding cups are very sweet. I don't know about frozen, but I find the jello brand less sweet than the Swiss Miss brand.
  16. I had mine removed just because when I had a fill, I threw up my dinner in my sleep. An unfilled band was worthless to me and I started gaining weight back. I didn't want a band that was doing me no good so I got a revision to a sleeve. I love the sleeve. You get restriction immediately without worrying about fills and there is never a worry about being too tight or too loose. I wish I had known about the sleeve to begin with. It works like the band is supposed to work. You can eat anything, but in small portions.
  17. they get you a room at the Comfort Inn. Dr. Aceves patients get a special rate. That is where Ernesto comes to get you to take you to Mexicali. It's a nice place , too, I must add.
  18. yeah, when Bill is over I eat way better. when I get home from work, I am happy with a protein shake.
  19. Just go slowly once you're able to eat. The first time I ate fish, I ate way too much and felt like I was going to explode. It was really painful and something I don't forget.
  20. yeah, I have considered that, but I sure would like to find my keys. My daughter gave me keys to her house so I could feed her animals and I lost those. Then I used her hide a key and lost that too. This is getting ridiculous.
  21. Your grocery bill will be cut dramatically. Although, even sleeved I still don't like to cook.
  22. is there any way you can get revision surgery to a sleeve? With a sleeve, you have restriction without worrying about fills ever again. Do some research on the vertical gastric sleeve, if there is any possible way to have your band taken out and get the sleeve surgery.
  23. I love to read that people were going to get the band and read posts and decided to get the sleeve instead. Some people do love their bands and have had no problems with it. It's my opinion that it's just a matter of time, and they will be having problems just like the rest of us.
  24. Dr. Campos brought me a heating pad. I only used it one night.
  25. You are just like me. I was complaining that I could drink just as easily as I did before surgery. I felt hungry for a couple of weeks. Don't worry. I don't even like to eat solids right now because I get full way too fast. I eat mainly soft foods.
