Love this site ... BUT
I don't like that at the top of the chat screen, you can jump between rooms that are the sleeve room or the band room. We've had bansters coming in doing that "our surgery is better" routine. My opinion is that if you're researching and trying to decide which surgery to get that's one thing. But if you love your band , don't come into the sleeve chat room to say we're nuts to have part of our stomach removed. I think it should be the way it was before. The band people would have to sign out of LBT and log on here to get in our chat room, and not be able to go between the two.

LInk at bottom of page
Somebody was talking about it on OH. They said this board is related to a porn site. I wondered what they were talking about.

Rate your liquids
I don't like the Premier Protein drinks at all. I do like their bars though. they have a lot of calories and carbs though. What is a twisted bar?

Something I read on that other board
I was looking for you in the chat room

Something I read on that other board
On OH, I read a thread that said that having ghrelin decreased causes memory loss. Do you think there is any truth to that? Since being sleeved, I keep losing things. It's like I have no memory left at all where I put things. WasA? Elizabeth? Anyone else know if this could possibly be true?

HELP!!!! Anyone post-op!!!
i use half a pack. Maybe that bit about me not having a sense of smell is why I don't taste things right. They have had things on the news about those swabs you stick in your nose causing people to lose their sense of smell. I only used those once, but i do have allergies, so i would guess that's why I don't have a good sense of smell. I do have some though. The girl at work yesterday had some nasty smelling perfume on.

I've been sleeved
I added it before. I put it all in a blender so that it was all liquid and you couldn't even tell the cottage cheese was in there, then heated it. I got some Proti tomato soup from my band dr. that has 15 grams of Protein and3 carbs. I don't know how they can make it with so few carbs. The problem is, with interstitial cystitis, you aren't supposed to eat anything with tomato products. I do have something called prelief that I can take before eating acidy foods to removed the acid out of the food, but I am afaid to try it. Interstitial cystitis is really painful.

Vitamin D
I've been taking two of these little gummy vit D 3's for about a month now. I am at my daughter's at the moment so I can't look on the bottle to see how much is in there. Should I stop it until I take the test or just keep taking two since I've been doing it for a month now?

Lapbander HERE!!!
I never had that tight in the mornings that I've heard from so many other people. I was too tight and didn't even know it. I thought everything was fine until my dinner started coming back up in my sleep at 3am. I never could understand why it never felt stuck.

Come in and chat with me!
I'll check in later on tonight. Anyone know what time is good for them? It's pacific time here.

Rate your liquids
I've heard a lot of other people say they like the fuzzy navel too.

Vitamin D
Thanks for posting this. I ordered the kit and I probably would have kept forgetting to ask you about it again. I'll be poking the finger soon. I've been taking extra Vit. D so I am really curious how my test will come out.

HELP!!!! Anyone post-op!!!
so many people told me Costco's Protein drink was good, and it's the only one that I thought tasted like cr@p. I wish I would lose my sweet tooth too. I add stevia to my Protein drinks to make them sweeter.

I've been sleeved
I wonder why everyone seems to crave tomato soup after surgery. You can add ricotta or cottage cheese to bump up the protein if you blend it really well.

Come in and chat with me!
I can't chat on Wed. evenings cause Bill stays overnight on Wednesdays. I think he would think I was being rude if I stayed on my lap top. He usually falls asleep really early but tonight for some reason he was awake until 10:00

New to this site
I've been using the Nioxin shampoo line since before surgery. The scalp treatment is hard to use. It's like water so it's hard to get it on all over. I like the shampoo and conditioner though. I am not sure if it's helping.

How long until you went back to work?
Who is doing your surgery?

Lapbander HERE!!!
Jacqui (Jachut) has been coming regularly too. She is one of the few people I know that's never had any problems who has had her band for quite awhile.

pian what hurts and how much
I was walking all over the neighborhood of the hospital the day after surgery. I know everyone is different, but I really never had any pain.

New and Excited
I am glad you changed your mind and are having sleeve surgery instead. Now you won't have to go back and have a revision like some of us have had to do. Welcome to Sleeve talk.

How long until you went back to work?
I had surgery on a Wed. and went back to work the following Tues. I could have easily gone back to work on Monday though.I have a desk job. I had no pain anywhere other then the first night of surgery. I had pain in my left shoulder which is common, from the gas they use during surgery. It was gone in the morning. I was surprised that I never had any pain after that anywhere. I was expecting to be in pain for a few days. The drain was removed the 3rd day after surgery.

totally confused
I am not going to repeat what everyone else has said but I can tell you that the most common foods people can't eat with a band are chicken breast, bread, and there's a lot of different fruits and vegetables that are hard to eat with the band. With the sleeve you can eat anything, just in small quantities

My Weird Food
I am definitely not the person to ask. After having my band completely unfilled, I went to the mall with the lady I rode with from San Diego and my last meal was a Jr. Whooper.

Exercise does NOT increase metabolism??
That must be why I exercised my brains out for 3 years before I got banded and never lost anything. I thought I was eating right too, but it was the ol lose 2 lbs during the week and gain 2 lbs back on the weekend.

I have a hang-up, appreciate advice
If you order nectar samples from Syntrex, they come in little packages. Beside that, there are plenty of things that come in a box with single servings that you add water to.
