  1. I walked all around the hospital neighborhood in my bathrobe trying to get an AT&T signal so I was not roaming. Nobody bothered me! The only person that spoke to me when I was about 4 blocks away was the anethesiologist (SP?) who said "Good Morning Denise" I was really surprised he remembered my name and told him he had a really good memory. I wish I had found that signal now that I got my cell phone bill.
  2. I believe that this is the one that Mac liked in the flavor called cherry smash.
  3. Oh good. 45 min after a meal is a little better than one hour.
  4. Mac would you do me a favor and take a look at the thread I started in the food section on rating liquid Protein. I know you tried quite a few and it would be nice for us to hear your reviews.
  5. That's why it would be nice if people would tell us if they found a good one. It seems like Mac didn't like most but finally found one she did like. LBT has a section for the post op phases but we don't seem to have anything here like that, other than the food section. I need to ask Mac which one she found to be okay.
  6. Oh I can't wait to try that tofu recipe!
  7. I really think it's just a matter of time before anyone who has the band starts having problems. They may not be having problems at this time, but it is my feeling that they will eventually. I have a friend who has had the band for 7 years. She sleeps sitting up with a bowl next to her bed every night in case she throws up in her sleep. She seems to think this is just fine. She will do anything to keep her band. I had that same problem, and I knew I could not live like that any longer. I didn't have any problems in the day time, but I was really worried about what this was doing to my stomach, inside where I could not see.
  8. I wonder if sweets and fats will always make us sick. They say it's not dumping, like the dumping with RNY, but I definitely feel nauseous if I eat more than a little bit of something sweet. It might be the combination of sweet and fat that makes me so sick when I eat ice cream. It's really stopped my cravings for ice cream though!
  9. Is it OH? I only want to know because I would like to know if there are other sleeve sites besides this one and OH.
  10. For some reason, I am having more trouble with this since sleeve surgery than I did with the band. I am more thirsty for some reason. Is it still one hour after meals before you can drink? I don't know what I did with my paperwork from Dr. Aceves office. I am wondering what they other doctors tell their patients too. I know with band surgery, some patients were told they could drink in 30-45 min. I've been watching the clock, and it's harder to wait than it used to be. Is it an hour after you finish eating or when you start eating? I try to stay busy so the hour goes by faster, but it seems like I am checking the clock all the time now.
  11. Generic protonix is cheaper than nexium if your ins. does not pay for nexium. protonix is supposed to be as good as nexium.
  12. Protonix went generic. That is what I take. It costs me $10. It's supposed to be as good as Nexium. I don't get heartburn, but I take it with all the other junk I take in the morning. I don't know if I would get it if I didn't take that every morning. I didn't know it does anything to Calcium. My dad had severe osterporosis. I worry about my calcium intake.
  13. I remember Elizabeth and Susan advancing early and I called the office and they told me not to do it. The paperwork does say that, but it wasn't what Dr. Aceves told me, so I called.
  14. Yeah, I didn't get the leaking (pads) part either. Does having sleeve surgery cause TOM to come early or something? I am all done with that. I think the biggest thing someone can do for someone who is on the post op diet is not to eat something you love in front of you. I about killed my bf when he was eating Tom & Jerry's fudge brownie ice cream in front of me. I definitely told him that was not allowed.
  15. I feel that the fact that they use the muscular part of the stomach to make the sleeve, it's so much better than RNY. The sleeved stomach wilI not stretch as much. know so many people who have had RNY and gained weight and can't seem to lose it. Their stomachs or pouch or whatever you want to call it, is all stretched out.
  16. Usually if you lose one, there are more to follow. I always lose that way. I get stuck for a long time, then I lose a couple and a few days later lose a couple more. Then I am stuck again for awhile.
  17. I can't remember. How did they figure out you had a leak? Were you in pain or did you just flunk the leak test?
  18. Now you can get on with your recovery and start feeling good!
  19. I felt hungry the first few days on the clear liquid diet. WASa insisted it was not hunger I was feeling. She said it was air in my stomach. It felt like hunger pains to me. You know, stomach growling type hunger pains. That went away after a few days. I have not been hungry at all since moving to full liquids. Head hunger is another story.
  20. I am sure you will lose Steve. Every time I got stuck on a plateau, I put myself back on the liquid diet and was always able to break through it that way.
  21. It was in paper work they sent me home with. I had a really hard time wtih that. I could drink 2 oz at least every 5 minutes and it was really hard for me to go slow.
  22. It's always so nice to see people who have had their sleeve for awhile, since so many of us are new at this. Way to go!
  23. I found one I can live with. It's big in my little box when I am typing, but it seems ok in the actual post. Red is too bright. I am not a fan of green or purple. I tried quite a few colors and I think I am sticking with this. Thanks Alex!
  24. She is doing great for only being 4 lbs 12 oz. She doesn't have any problems other than being tiny. She is nursing well and I think they are going home tomorrow. I bet my Walmart won't have those. They seem to have a poor selection of Atkins bars. They used to have a good selection, but now there are so many kinds of bars out, Atkins seems to have lost some shelf space.
  25. I thought you went and saw him and he found something in your throat.
