Hi everyone. I see no one has posted here yet. I'm 24 and married. Right now I am the happy mother of four dogs- Hailey, Daisey, Molly, and Tess. They are my babies and I love them to no end. BUT, who knows what the future holds for my hubby and me. There could be a baby one day. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there pregnant with the VSG or has had a baby with the VSG? Would you mind sharing your experiences?

Or, even if you have had kids before the VSG and you now have the sleeve, maybe you can share what you think it could be like to be pregnant with the sleeve.

I'm afraid to post here. I'm afraid the fertility God's will misunderstand and think I want children other than the furry four legged kind. ;o)

I'm 32 years old, and have an 11 year old son from a previous relationship that my now husband has deemed "his". My son calls him "dad" and as far as they are concerned they are father and son. When the husband returns from deployment, we have discussed my husband adopting Caysen. It's something all of us want.

I would be perfectly happy not having another child, but I do want a child with my husband. It's contradictory sounding I know, but I never, ever wanted children. My husband is 6 years my junior, and wants a child of his own biologically and I respect and understand his wants/needs. I spoke with my surgeon, and he said that we had to wait 12 months before we could even try to conceive. My surgeon told me I would have to see a high risk ob/gyn for the pregnancy, and be very mindful of my calorie intake. I'm not sure what it will be like to be pregnant with the sleeve. I had an amazing pregnancy with my son, and can only hope that we will be blessed with a great pregnancy next year.

I hope the same thing for both of you and can only say better you than me girlfriend! I'm with WASa on the furry 4-legged type babies -that's all I want anymore ... now grandbabies of the 2-legged variety would be ok too.

I actually plan on speaking with my OB/GYN on July 2nd about how soon we can start to try again. My reasoning for my weightloss surgery was not only to give me a new start to a healthy life, but to be in a healthy enough position to carry another baby safely to term. It's been 2 years since Ive had a miscarraige and despirately want my baby I lost. I hope he is super positive and a clearance to get to trying...I will keep you posted of the outcome!

Yes, that's why I don't go there very often -- although everyone of them were ever so friendly!

I found it too chatty with little info. Plus they were chatting about stuff that meant nothing to me. Nothing against them -- they seem very nice -- it just didn't feel like a "home" for me.

I am with WASa:001_rolleyes:--I am fine with 4 legged furry babies but not interested in having the human kind--especially now that I'm almost 50!:thumbup1:

But good luck to you. I'm sure that there are sleevers out there who have healthy pregancies.

Goodness, I couldn't imagine having any more kids at this age either. My brother is 50 years old and he and his wife just had a baby girl about a month ago! No way, my youngest is 16 and soon I will be an empty nester.

At any rate, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to have a perfectly healthy pregnancy. You would just need to make sure you are getting proper nutrition and taking a good prenatal Vitamin.

I just wanted to update on VSG prego info...I went to my annual appt. last week with my OB/GYN. He said as long as my weight loss is steady and slow, that nutritonally supporting a pregnancy should not be a problem. He does want to update his knowledge of having a pregnant Post op WLS patient. I will call him in a couple of weeks about what he has informed himself of, but as far as what he is knowledgable of everything should be fine regarding the WLS and pregnancy. I do run an increased risk of miscarriage, b/c I've already had a miscarriage. I personally feel that miscarriage was due to my weight. I know my mom's neighbor has the bypass surgery, and has many many miscarriages before her WLS, and now post-op has 3 kiddos under 4 years old. Her 4 year old is my son's good friend! She feels WLS was her miracle fix to being able to have more babies! She also warns to be careful, she feels with her healthier weight it made her a fertile myrtle!! Hope this helps...as of this month, I officially stopped my birthcontrol, and want to start trying in the next month or two!!!
