My surgery date is Aug. 7; its coming up! I just want to double check; with the sleeve- no diet coke or carbonated drinks? No drinking with meals? What about ibuprofen or other head ache meds. I get head aches a lot and take ibuprofen. If its not allowed, what else can - take? Also, I'm hearing a lot about Nexium. What is it? Does Dr. Aceves provide it?

No carbonation according to my doc (it's not good for you anyway). No drinking with meals, Ibuprofen is fine AFTER you heal, Nexium for 3 months after surgery. Dr. A provides a 2 week supply the rest you can get a lot cheaper in MX than you can the US if your ins does not cover.

Generic protonix is cheaper than nexium if your ins. does not pay for nexium. protonix is supposed to be as good as nexium.

The 40 mg. was running at $40.00 USD for a box of 14 - which broken in half would give you almost a 1 months supply.
