  1. I had to wait longer than I wanted to because my dad died and I was in Arizona and it was just too darn hot outside. I normally join a gym while I am there, but I just didn't feel like paying $10 a day to exercise. So it ended up being 6 weeks before I was into my old routine. I am done losing weight. I've lost all the weight I gained from having my band unfilled plus 5 more and I am not really interested in buying all new clothes.
  2. Yes, I echo what WASa said . Welcome to the loser side! Glad to hear your'e back and on the road to recovery.
  3. It's nice that you're getting to meet everyone! I hope bearded is over the worst of it and starts feeling great again. Thanks for keeping us updated!
  4. I take Protonix and it has gone generic. It costs me $10 and it's a very tiny pill. It's every bit as good as Nexium. It's a prescription .
  5. That's so great! I hope tomorrow is just as good as today!
  6. I can totally relate. Today I ate the crust off my 15 month old grandson's pb&J. It was whole wheat bread and all natural no sugar added jelly. I had that really guilty feeling like I had just eaten a piece of chocolate cake.
  7. Ruthi, maybe in time you will learn to like it. I find if I don't exercise, I get grumpy. I was able to get off my antidepressants when I started exercising regularly.
  8. I have itching problems with pain meds too, and was told it is a very common side effect with most pain meds.
  9. All I can tell you is too much sugar will make you feel nauseous. I am not sure how much sugar causes this. I thought it was a lactose intolerance issue but it's not. It's a sugar issue. Sugar makes me dizzy, gives me gas, makes my heart race, and I break out in a cold sweat. They say we don't dump with this surgery, but my daughter had RNY and she said what I describe is just like dumping. Too much sugar dumping into the blood stream causes these issues. There is a 50% less sugar apple juice that I drank post op and I had no problems with it. It's Motts brand for children.
  10. it didn't bother me either. I just didn't like the cost.
  11. That's exactly how I was. When I was cleared to drink, I couldn't believe I could drink whatever they brought me with no trouble at all.
  12. It is definitely a miserable feeling. I would rather eat mushy. I have lost all the weight I gained when my band was unfilled. My clothes are too big for me. I don't want to go out and buy new clothes. I am going to learn to eat solids slowly over the next few months. I am still learning. It's still very hard for me to judge.
  13. I had to download a program when the chat room first opened. That solved my problem. That is not like Alex to not answer you. I wonder if either Elisabeth or WASa could pull a response out of him.
  14. You will be very happy that you chose Dr. Aceves to be your surgeon!
  15. I have heard about him, but it's really different reading about it from someone who has personally gone through what you had to deal with. Thank you so much for posting your story. You have saved lives!
  16. My 15 month old grandson can eat more than I can1
  17. Many people are low on it even if they aren't MO, I am finding out. A lot of people don't take vitamins or sit in the sun.
  18. You're lucky you live where you live because I think Vegas would be the perfect place to have it. Lots to do, lots of hotels, usually good airfare, etc. We'll just have to skip those buffets.
  19. I think it's so cool that you are getting to meet so many of our sleeved friends! We definitely need to plan a reunion sometime in the future. I want to meet so many of you!
  20. If it makes you feel any better, I have very little desire to eat solids. I don't like that full feeling after only a few bites. There are so many things I like that are easier to eat, I would rather ease into solids over the next few months.
  21. That's cool Jacqui that you're going to get to have lipo. It's really easy to have that feeling of losing control, like you are talking about. We all drilled it into our heads before WLS that we HAVE to keep dieting.
  22. Wow, I didn't know it would take 6 months. I hope the warm liquid does the trick. Do you have the problem when you have Soup? That's warm. I hope you get it all figured out. I know it can't be easy cause I see my friend going through this too.(((Susan)))
  23. When I started having problems, I had my band unfilled. Things went fine for a couple of months. Then, it started back up again. food I had eaten at dinner time around 5pm was coming up in the middle of the night again. I would wake up coughing and choking and have to run to the bathroom. I decided that the band was not a good idea for me anymore. I worried about what it was doing inside where I could not see. I was tired of the cost of esophagrams just to tell me I needed to be unfilled. I was already unfilled and having problems. I went to Dr. Alberto Aceves because he is very experienced in band to sleeve revisions. I was worried that if I didn't get that band out of there, it would damage my stomach to the point that I could not have a revision surgery. Life is so much easier with the sleeve. I have a small stomach now, not some piece of silicone wrapped around my stomach. I felt like that band was choking the life out of my stomach.
  24. I had my band removed for this very same reason. I was fine for 2 years. Everything was fine in the daytime, but at night it was another story. I called my banded friend and she told me I had to sleep sitting up and put a bowl next to the bed to throw up in the middle of the night. This was AFTER I had my fill removed. I knew I could not live like that, and worried about the band damaging my stomach and esophagus. I had my band removed and got the revision surgery to a sleeve. Now food does not get stuck, and I can take my medications without fear of them coming back up. Life is so much better with the sleeve. I worry about all those people out there who are choosing to live like this in fear of gaining their weight back.
  25. I just hope people who are considering the band will come in here and read.
