Exercise
I was exercising for years before I got the sleeve. I had to wait 6 weeks after surgery but not because of surgery. My dad died, and I was stuck in Arizona and I didn't want to join a gym there. I do weight training about 4 days a week. I do a class 2 days a week, and weights on my own the other 2 days. I do cardio at least 5 days a week. I've lost like 8" on my thighs. It's from weight training, not from sleeve surgery. I've lost 7" on my waist. Also from exercise, not sleeve surgery. I lost these inches before having sleeve surgery. I go absolutely nuts if I don't exercise. I can't sleep, and I'm very moody.

Does Your Band Stop Your Hunger
No with the sleeve food does not get stuck. You can eat anything you want, just not very much of it. You do get full pretty fast. I am kind of a grazer though. I get full pretty fast, but then maybe a couple hours later, I might have a healthy snack. There are some days I just don't feel like messing with food or cooking or dishes and I will have 3 Protein shakes per day and be perfectly satisfied. I didn't start having band problems until after I had the band for a couple of years. I could just see more problems coming, so I revised to the sleeve before that started happening. I am really glad I did.

Advice needed
My bf has been going through a lot of stress. His family is really dysfunctional. Instead of sharing with me, he's just really moody and quiet. I know the stuff he is going through is really painful, but at the same time, I am really sick of the way he shuts down. I sent a message to a guy on another dating site. he wrote back and asked for a picture. I sent a little newsy email, and sent a picture. I have not heard back from him. I don't know whether to wait, or send him another message and if so, what to say. Vegas Angel, you can see the picture on my fb page. It's the only picture I have of me that I can send. I am really camera shy and take lousy pictures. Even though I am a size 10-12, I still look really fat in pictures. I really need some advice here. I would like to send a little message and ask if he'd like to meet for coffee, cause you can't tell much from a picture or an email. Is anyone good with this sort of thing? Should I wait another couple of days? I sent the picture yesterday. The email he had sent was really nice, and he didn't seem like someone who was all hung up on looks. This has happened to me before, where I have corresponded with men, then as soon as I sent the picture, all emails just stopped. Please give me your advice!:sad0::001_wub:

The link did not work for me, but I already have the book.

I'm bad at liquids.
Most people can handle the K20 Protein Water. It doesn't have much protein in it, but it's better than nothing. You can always water it down if it's too sweet. I was really lucky that nothing bothered me. I put unflavored Protein powder in anything I could find that was SF. Today I have had 3 different Protein shakes because nothing else sounded good.

? for Dr. Aceves' patients
When I was at the mall, it drove me nuts to see the prices. I saw a shirt that was like $400 but they told me in American $$ it was like $14. It was hard for me to figure out the prices.

burping - 2 days post op
All of you have no idea how nice it would be to be able to sleep like a normal person. Insomnia is the pits!

I hope someone reads this
It's called the Beck Diet Solution, by Janet Beck. It's not a diet though. It's behavior modification. Right under the title, it says "how to think like a thin person"

To Tell ....or not to tell
I lost my weight with the band. I didn't tell people I got the band. I lost weight very slowly with the band, so everyone knew I was dieting. I told people I was eating smaller portions and exercising. I really haven't lost much since I got the sleeve, because I was close to goal from the band. I was just tired of living with the band. I had the band over 2 years ago, so people are used to me by now, being at this weight.

Love the Sleeve
You can eat meat with the sleeve and not throw it up. It does not get stuck, but you fill up on it really fast. You do throw it up if you eat too much of it, because your stomach is TINY. It's hard to learn how little to eat. I am full awhile after I am done eating. We are used to eating until we are full, but you can't with the sleeve. You feel more full 10 minutes after you're done eating, and then you are in trouble.

Prescriptions, Guest food, etc
I have the email that was sent to me if anyone needs it. It covers everything, like be sure to bring flip flops if your slippers are difficult to put on.Shampoo, etc.

Men are stupid
Yeah, I have it set that way. That's why I don't understand why this person was able to see anything. I don't even have it set to where people can search for me, or add me.

? for Dr. Aceves' patients
My last meal was Burger King at the mall. I've heard from everyone that the food in the cafeteria is really good and very reasonable. the Lucerna is beautiful. There are several places to choose from there to have a meal.

Some are clueless
I never even liked friend chicken. I haven't eaten the skin from a piece of chicken in years. Even if Mountain Dew was a clear, it's still carbonated. Geepers, some people you have to wonder why they are even considering wls.

Prescriptions, Guest food, etc
Are you going to Dr. Aceves? they have a great email that they send out with all that information. Somebody should have a copy of it that they could post here, or you could ask Nina to email it to you. It covers everything! I take Protonics and did not buy the Nexium in MX. Protonics is just as good and my ins. covers it. I believe the email says not to bring more than $20 for meals.

Should sipping be getting easier?
It true that food does not get stuck like it does with the band. However, once you move to solids, you will have to be extremely careful. You will vomit food back up. If you eat too much, you'll be really happy it comes back up. It's painful to be too full. It's easy to eat too much until you learn how much to eat. It's that deal that the brain waits to tell the stomach it's full. I don't feel full, but 10, 15 min later, I am in pain. I have learned to stop before I am full.

Men are stupid
I NEVER say anything about this surgery on fb. I have one friend on there that had it too, and my DD knows, but they are the only people on FB that know I had it. I can't believe that saying I am feeling sad today is something somebody can take so personally. Hell some days I just wake up sad for no reason. I guess I'll just go back to talking about the weather. Can someone please explain to me if I have my settings set so only "friends" see my comments, how friends of friends see them? Do those settings not work?

VSG vs LapBand
That is a really good point. That whole idea really scared me when I started throwing up in my sleep. I got to wondering what was going on inside that I could not see. I got to thinking about putting a rubber band around my finger and leaving it there for 3 years and how my finger would look after that. VSG vs LapBand
The reason doctors are still pushing the band is that it's an easy money maker. besides the surgery being easy, a lot of them get money every time someone needs a fill or an unfill. There are not a lot of places that gives you fills free forever. Fills can also be very expensive, and so are the tests to find out why you are having problems.

Men are stupid
I agree Angel. You can always send someone a private message on there and ask what they meant ask about their comment.

I hope someone reads this
You should get the book then. It has a lot of great ideas. I got it at Amazon for $9. It's worth the money. I like their ideas on how to think like thin people think. It's behavior modification and that's what we need.

I want chocolate to go away forever!
I am going to do the 5 day test starting tomorrow, so I am getting that evil chocolate out of my system. Only one problem. Chocolate is my favorite protein drink.
