  1. It's really too bad that more people don't read this section of the board and consider the sleeve. There are more and more people with band complications and try to live with it when the sleeve works just like a band is "supposed" to. There is no comparison to living with the sleeve and living with the band.
  2. I am really looking forward to seeing the pictures!
  3. I got their phone number and I am going to call Monday. They told me to call next week for results.
  4. Bad carbs are evil. I can't wait to get my Vit.D test back. If my vit. D is off, it could explain why I have cravings for sweets even when I cut them out.
  5. I am completely compulsive about weighing and I don't have any intention of stopping. The only time I don't weigh every day is when I am being extremely bad. That hasn't happened in a long time. It drove me nuts when I was in AZ and I was weighing on a different scale.
  6. I am glad you got some answers! I can't imagine Dr. Campos 44 lbs lighter. I was there 2 months ago, and I think he said his surgery was a month before that. I think he had lost 20 lbs by then. Its's so nice that you got to meet up with some of our fellow sleeve sisters! Hope all goes well for DF tomorrow!
  7. It does take awhile for the hunger to subside. Perhaps you should try a different Protein drink. You will be amazed later on when that hungry feeling goes away and you just don't feel hungry.
  8. I hope your insurance gives you an answer soon. It's really great that you have insurance that covers WLS. My insurance booklet says "No WLS covered for any reason"
  9. Most people report that they hate the Unjury soup. Maybe you can make a deal with someone who has it and wants to get rid of it.
  10. You are so right. They all make the entire experience so much more enjoyable.
  11. Absolutely! Your stomach is stapled off and you could develop a leak if you ate anything at this point. then you would need a feeding tube.

Thanks Mac. My daughter had the RNY 3 years ago, so I was really wondering what the difference was.

I didn't know where else to put this. I am just curious about this. They are always saying the sleeve is the first part of DS. What is DS anyway? I know what the letters stand for, but I don't even know what that surgery involves. I just know that WASa said they have an problem because that surgery causes issues with people smelling bad.:001_tt2: I never cared enough about this to find out, but now I am curious. What is the difference between DS and RNY?
  14. I would be really upset too. Hope everything is okay with your mom and you can get your surgery in Oct. instead of Dec.
  15. oh, okay. I thought she said DF was having his surgery on the 10th.
  16. I was too. For the most part, it was pretty painless for me.
  17. I could never stop weighing daily but I have definitely accepted fluctuating.
  18. How's it going down there? Did you have your test to see what's going on with you? Did bearded have his surgery yet? How is he doing? Curious minds want to know!:001_smile:
  19. You're getting your sleeve in just a few days! Congratulations! Boy, this is starting to look like a Dr. Aceves board. He is wonderful and my whole experience at the hospital and in Mexicali was too. I am really excited that we are getting so many new people here at sleeve talk.
  20. Welcome to sleeve talk! Congratulations on your great weight loss! I am confused though. Are you saying that it took 7 years to get your surgery?
  21. I can't imagine that my pcp would prescribe that for me. He is someone that thinks we should take as little medicine as possible. Does it effect the liver? I have to be careful of what meds I take because of my liver.
  22. Which forum are on over there Mac? Are you on one besides the sleeve board?
  23. Staying at the exact same weight ever day is difficult. Did you eat anything salty? I am having trouble being only 5 lbs from my goal. It's so easy to snatch a bite of this or that and then be disappointed on the scale. There is junk food at work, at my daughters when I babysit, etc. I need to stick to the no snacking rule, even if it's only a couple of bites if I ever want this last 5 off.
  24. Well for one thing you are eating carbs, not protein. Protein will make the hunger go away. Carbs cause cravings and hunger.
  25. Are you sure it's real hunger and not head hunger. I have been snacking myself today, but it was total head hunger. I am never really hungry anymore
