Longterm Success??

Hi,

I have just been cleared by my dietician and psychologist and doctor to have the sleeve surgery! I am so excited and will probably have the surgery at the end of the month. I have pretty much found the answers to all my questions from everyone here (thanks!)...but I do have one more....

It seems as though everyone on this site had the sleeve done in the past year. Is there anyone out there who has had the sleeve surgery over 2-3 years? I know it is a newer WLS but I would just like reassurance that the longterm results will hopefully be there. ( i am paying out of pocket and it is a huge investment for me) I have a friend who got the lap band and she is doing great. I have a feeling most problems with the lap band come after 1 year. I just hope this is not the case with the sleeve.

So, non-rookies, if you are out there: Have you been able to maintain your weight? Do you have any issues you would like to discuss?

Thanks!!

There are other people who have had their sleeve longer at that other board. Obesity Help has a lot of people who have had the sleeve surgery. That board is very unorganized and it's hard to keep track of posts. But I am sure you will find people who have had their sleeve longer than at at this board . this board was just started in May.

On my profile on OH, I have a blog post which lists a bunch of links to posts from people 1 year out or more.

Note: it's formated correctly on my Mac but is one big paragraph on a PC. I don't know why.

Thanks Mac! That's great that it's all in one place. I clicked on a couple of them, and it's not one big paragraph for me.
