    Surgery Date: 2/5/2021

By the way, my family adopted a mostly black kitten in November. My son named him Kevin and he is such a rascal that we affectionally call him Evil Kevin. 😄

    Newbie & 1st stall

Mine lasted two weeks, but a friend of mine (another RNY patient) had her first stall last three weeks - so it's not unheard of. Just stick to your plan and stay off the scale if you need to, and it WILL break - it always does!

    Pain from yogurt/pudding??

I sounds like you just aren't quite ready for those yet, even if they are on your plan. You may have more inflammation in your stomach than most, which restricts the thicker (or sometimes even the thinner) things more than others experience. I had yogurt (and purees, etc.) in the hospital without problem, but others on the same plan couldn't handle them. Our general rule was to try new foods one at a time to test for tolerance; if it worked, great, if not, try it again in a week or two.

OMG - the last 10 pounds!

The last 10 are really hard, I was already a slow loser and I had to push to lose the final 10. I went to the gym and forced myself to take classes 4 days a week, I rode my bike and went on walks at least 5 days a week. I also ate really clean and drank a lot of water. That was on top of my regular gym schedule of 4-5 days a week. I promised myself that I wouldn’t give up, it was hard but It was worth it. I really miss going to the gym. I never thought I’d say that!

22 Months Post-Op and losing control

Welcome back! Don't beat yourself up -- this has been a rough year for everyone and A LOT of people have had weight gain during the pandemic. It's not too late to get back on track. There are a lot of options for working out at home. I have no desire to go to a gym (plus, I live in a rural area and it would be a long drive to get to a gym), so I would rather work out at home. I do a YouTube video for cardio every day. There are so many free workout videos available (my favorite is Leslie Sansone). And you can do strength training with an inexpensive set of resistance bands. Maybe you could try cutting out snacks completely. For me, snacking was a big part of my weight problems in the first place, so I am now sticking to three meals per day and not snacking at all between meals, other than protein drinks (and the occasional sugar-free hard candy). I'm only 6 months out from surgery, so I'm sure it's easier for me than it is for you, but I find that a warm beverage fills me up for a while. I think tracking your food intake is really important. I love MyFitnessPal, and something that helps me is to enter my food BEFORE I eat it. If you're not up to that detailed tracking, you could try an app like Ate Food Diary. All you have to do with that is take a picture of what you eat and say whether it's on path or off path.

22 Months Post-Op and losing control

I'm so sorry that you are going through this!! As Dr Phil says "You can't fix what you don't acknowledge" so it sounds like you are getting on the right path! Congratulations on kicking the alcohol habit! Definitely not easy. I am fairly new here (well, almost 6 months out), but I have read a lot about the "pouch reset" which involves about a week of going back to basics. I think you need to get on a scale and then focus on protein and water goals again! Good luck!!

This may not sound like an answer about weight loss surgery to begin with but it is: are you familiar with ACE - Adverse Childhood Experiences study. Its a pretty amazing concept and I am going to dumb it up just to shorten this post. Basically its a few questions you answer and it gives you a numerically score and that score tells you how messed up you as an adult should be. I should have childhood amnesia (I do) and I its not just you. If you are interested in a few books about healing your inner child and allowing yourself to heal as an adult I would love you send you some ideas. Private message me if you a reader or an audio book fan. Its pretty amazing how the body builds protection mechanisms as small children and adapts throughout life some in healthy ways and some unhealthy but all to survive ..... the human body is amazing.

    Pilates

I wanted to find a pilates thread but they were all old. I did Pilates for the first time as recommended by my doctor for my back. For the first five minutes, I was like, this is so easy! How am I going to get a workout doing this? After the class, I was so out of it I got lost driving home. I was a mile from my house. So... for those who do pilates, how often do you go? Do you think it has contributed to weight loss? My back feels nice and stretched out now. We'll see if I can walk tomorrow.
