    Looking for guidance & support.

Hi everyone. I was sleeved 02/2018. I lost all my weight and hovered around 172 for a few months. I had a death in the family and I fell into some really bad old habits. I take full responsibility for my actions. I have gained 24 lbs since my lowest weight of 168. I got on the scale this morning at 192. I stopped exercising, I have been eating horribly, and it seems with certain foods and at certain times it feels like I can eat a full meal. I remember in the beginning when four ounces was a lot. I can eat way more then that I have been over the past few months. Tomorrow I am looking to change things around and go back to the basics. Unfortunately I am not on good terms with my surgical team or nutritionist. Although I had an amazing surgeon, I was double billed for the surgery a year after I had it and my insurance wouldn't pay. They told me a year later a second surgeon was present in my surgery yet refuse to release my medical records. Has anyone successfully lost weight after gaining some back after being sleeved? How do I know if I stretched my sleeve? I am determined to drop 17-20 lbs to get back down to weight that I was. I just need some guidance and support. Thanks for listening.

I know several women in our county who have had the Gastric Sleeve surgery and who they used. I was just about set to go to their Dr but after having a background check done on a few, Dr Lopez Corvala was the only one who sounded solid. Dr Corvala only does 2 procedures a day and with a dedicated team where at least 1 is with you at every turn and on the premises all night if needed. We were picked up and returned at the airport in SanDiego by driver Rafeal . He was a charismatic tour guide with a medical pass that helps immensely when trying to reenter the Us. When first arriving at the Hospital Angeles the patient coordinator hand delivers you to all testing areas and escorts you to your room. She gave lots of insight into the whole thing. The nurses shifts and things run pretty much like the Us. They were so darling and professional but I got attached to a nurse Maria who took care of me quite a bit. All of the people we had contact with were very traditional and polite. While a few nurses didn't speak English just using goggle translator helped immensely. I think it was even kind of fun. Of course growing up in Arizona I did know lots of spanish but not so much the medical words. They run an incredible operation and I would trust them with a loved ones life. Hope this helps someone who may be just looking into who to use in Mexico Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hey to all my BariatricPals who have lost 100 lbs or more what exercise routines worked best for you? I’m 10 weeks post gastric sleeve and my goal is to lose 160 pounds! My surgeon said I’m going to have to work hard to lose this much weight. So I just joined my local YMCA and have started taking water exercise classes and Zumba. Of course I was told that walking is good. I’m just curious about the “secrets” of the success of those of you who have already lost 100 pounds…

Hello, I had gastric sleeve when I was 18 years old and lost over 100lbs but gained all the weight back since. I am now 24 and had a re-sleeve done on October 17th (17 days ago). I have been exercising daily and following my surgeons guidelines very strictly, including my vitamins and hydration. I have only lost about 6lbs the last 17 days since surgery (256lb day if surgery, now fluctuating between 250 and 248). Everything I have read says people usually lose 5-15lbs their first month(which I did my first gastric sleeve) but I do not find much about re-sleeves. My nurse practitioner said it is normal not to lose weight the first month while you're healing because your body is retaining water, but I simply do not believe that given my past experiences and what I read. Should I be worried my metabolism is completely messed up and I went through all of this again for nothing?

    Over Night Stay

I slept A LOT so really didn't need much. My husband brought my laptop over, but I'm pretty sure I never used it. I just wanted to sleep....

    /sigh I Hate Ignorant People

This is why I told only a handful of people about my surgery--two family members and a very small number of friends (and made them promise to keep in to themselves). Many people who are unfamiliar with WLS think it's the "easy way out," but all of us know that is definitely not the case. Nonetheless, when I told my sister and one of my closest friends that I was planning to have surgery, they became really hostile, saying it was too drastic, too dangerous, and just plain stupid. Their reactions caused me to distance myself from both of them. Both are quite overweight, and I think they felt threatened by the fact that I was doing something about my weight. I don't need that kind of negative energy when I'm making positive changes in my life!

My surgeon gave me the option. Because I haven't had children, he didn't deem it absolutely necessary. I opted for it, despite the pain, in order to have the best results possible, in particular narrowing my waist. I also heard the hunched over position, and the pain. And that hunching over also causes back pain. I'm honestly not looking forward to that part at all.
