1 year and two months post surgery how's everyone doing?

Recommended Posts

Hey All!

My surgery date was 1/6/16 I plateaued at 50lbs last May and stayed there. On the up side I haven't gained any back and my hair isn't falling out any more but I still want to lose 30lbs more. Menopause is creeping up and that will not help matters I know.

How's everyone else doing?

I was sleeved on September 28, 2016. I've lost 182 pounds total (99 during my six month pre-op diet program and 83 additional since the surgery). I have 35 more pounds to go until I reach my goal. I am hoping to get there sometime this summer.

I had 3 surgeries on Jan 26 2016. The sleeve, gallbladder removal and hernia repair. I was doing great until Oct of last year. I am about 40 pounds from my goal weight and finding these last 40 to be very difficult to get off. Since Halloween I have been bouncing back and forth with the same 10 pounds. Can't seem to get out of the 200's. I still can't walk because of 4 herniated discs but I am riding my trike. Was suppose to have some skin removal surgery but that was canceled as they found some microcalcifications and now I am waiting for a biopsy. Once I get pass this situation I hope to be able to get below 200.

That's great that you have found an exercise regime with herniated disks. I know that can be tricky. Having the skin surgery will take off some pounds too. Good luck with the microcalcifications, as well. Never what you want to hear I know. Been there.

Trying to lose these last 10. I've taken up weight lifting. Seemed to help. Maybe the scale isnt moving but my pant size and body is transforming. I guess when they say dont go by the scale they mean it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
