Oh please join the support group on FB. It has lots of people who have done the surgery and what to expect. And, let me know how things go. I have been doing their pre-op plan and just wishing now that I would have scheduled it sooner. I am tired of waiting. Good luck and keep in touch.

Absolutely. Feel free to message me anytime. Im here to support you

What part of California are you from? I'm from Texas but will stay in San Diego for about a week post surgery to kind of relax and heal while enjoying the sites of the city.

I am in Los Angeles County. Encino to be specific (West Valley). I am going to be staying at a hotel in TJ (a nice one) that is a part of the package.

Yes, I will be staying in the Marriott in TJ until Monday the 19th. Then my husband and I will stay in San Diego at a little house until the 27th of June....thought I'd get some relaxation in before flying back to Texas. Do you know of any of the sites to visit in San Diego that are really worth doing?

May I ask why you are having a revision. I thought I was set on the sleeve but I wonder if at my BMI if it will give me the amount of weight loss that I want. I have a BMI of 51. I wonder if it is truly the correct procedure for me. Fine time for me to be questioning this!

Having revision because i didnt ever get down to my goal weight and severe acid reflux. I lost a total of 93 lbs in about 8 or 9 months. Slowly started putting back on weight about 2 years after and also had a baby in may 2015. Have regained about 40 lbs so hoping the mgb will get me where i was trying to be.

Yes this is what I am afraid will happen to me! I need to lose 150 lbs to get to my goal. I dont know if the sleeve can get me there.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
