16 days post op...the good, the bad, and enough about me.

Recommended Posts

Went well, in general. Surgeon chopped and popped as a Pro. Didn't fix umbilical hernea though...a subject for upcoming meeting. Surgery Pain manageable, but a belly-binder ace-bandage would have helped early-on. Wifey had to haul me up from bed for 2 days...that bad! Kept cell-phone on me, as bell-ringer wasn't loud enough. My little dog pounced on belly, but learned not to do that again... First 3 urinations following penial catherization were unbearable, even with meds...its mainly a guy thing and supposedly not so bad for typical others...a subject for upcoming meeting. It's a deal-changer for potential joint tummy-tuck and umbilical hernea surgery...change practice or forget it! Being a little bit "high" and temporarily feeble can be risky...have to focus on steps...just imagine falling in that compromised state...that will sober you up. Walked slowly allot in dim light with little distraction...quiet praise music was helpful in my comfort zone. Others may find their own vibe and comfort zone in the moment, which ay not be the same as the past. "Earned" my sip of liquids each time I passed table.

Watch-out for use of exercise machine as it can lull you out of focus...took breaks during commercials, then got wise to risks. Constipated...nothing in, nothing out...a little pepto bismol and low-sugar Prune juice and was fine, actually too fine...upped the Calcium intake via skim milk. Used stool softener going forward. Back to work (lightly) in 7 days...took it slow and slept well before and after. Got off meds a few days prior to work and driving (otherwise it is your fault, even if it isn't your fault) . Wounds red from scratching...doc proscribed Benadryl... got kiddy generic liquid and double-dosed. Bandage adhesive and my skin, not a good match, but I wasn't about to peal them off, even after long warm shower.

Sorry for the cryptic writing...not too patient at the moment.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
