As you can see I’m still very new to the post-surgery world. But today I had a little success to share with everybody who will be going through the same thing in the near future. An update on how I’m feeling, gas pains are all but gone (keep walking!) I’m now at the point where the sites are very itching and some of the bandaging is coming off. I’m still a little slow but I have very little to no pain, except minor at the incision sites. Now for the little success, I just started full liquids yesterday and today I decided to have some Tomato Soup, I heated up a can of Soup which was about 12 ounces, I sat down and started taking small sips to see how I tolerated it (no problem) it’s shocking how good Tomato soup tastes after the journey I have been on. I started falling into my old eating habits of, it’s in front of me I have to finish, it’s at this point my little breakthrough came today, after eating 4 or 5 ounces of soup I realized I wasn’t hungry anymore, the old me would’ve been like, it’s there you gotta finish it, but this time I stop myself and put the remainder of the soup in the fridge for a later time. I know this is not earth shattering but I guess this is a good success on my journey going forward.

No, it's an earth shattering breakthrough!!! This same thing happened to me and the thin me inside stood up and danced around the room as I sat there in awe of my new revelation! We don't have to devour the entire selection of food in front of us or around us. We are no longer eating machines and WE control the hungry monster in our heads!! It's a beautiful life and we are blessed

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
