Hi everyone. Glad did found the UK page. Anyone here been sleeved in the homerton in London. I'm waiting on my blood tests and other bits from my doctor before she will refer me to there. I'm hoping it's not a overly long road as I just want to love my life how I want. I'm sick and tired of being this way now. Fingers crossed. Any advice and guidance will be welcomed x

Hi - I just had surgery in Gloucester - self funding as I live in Wales & it takes forever to be referred - been fighting with GP Local MP Health Minister etc. finally gave in & went private - I can see Homerton is NHS - good luck to you - far easier to have bariatric surgery in England - fingers crossed you get approved x

Welcome to the UK boards. Best advice I could pass on is to really research before having the op. What to do pre op, what happens during the op and how to cope after, especially around food. Knowledge is power :)

Jadeedie amazing your getting it done at the homerton (that's my second local hospital). I know UCH and Queens Romford also do it as well if you don't get much joy with the Homerton

Best of luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
