What the last poster said and wait 30 secs between mouthfuls. It's really hard at first cause it's never been something you have to think about when eating but it really helps [emoji4]

I don't know what food stage you are currently on, but for me, anything that was too dry had that effect.

So, runny purees, then soft food with lots of sauces or stock. Just moist food.

I reacted badly to a too dry scrambled egg, got stuck in the middle of my oesophagus, got horrible burning, and then had to run to the bathroom.

Other drier foods used to give me reflux, so even now I make sure my food is moist.

And as others said, small bites and chew well.

Good luck.

I'm on the last stage. Thank you

OK, the last stage where more solids are introduced.

As I mentioned earlier, try adding sauces, yoghurt, stock to food.

I mainly ate minces, such as chicken/turkey/veal mince with cheese sauce or another Protein type sauce, so the food was moist. Anything too dry used to get stuck. At times I would take a tiny sip of Water of tea, just a tiny one.

Chewed like mad, and ate very slowly as I had reflux if I didn't do that.

I also dumped after beef mince, so I stayed away from it.

I still eat very moist food at close to 6 months post op.

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
