I've been heavy all of my life, I've had periods where I've dropped a lot of weight doing Weight Watchers and tons of exercise. The problem is that the weight always piled back on. I started my journey towards WLS (sleeve) September of 2015. After countless Doctor Appointments, a sleep study, endoscopy and fighting with my insurance I am finally hitting the surgery table tomorrow at 1:30PM.

I'm kind of freaking out tonight. I'm second guessing my decision as this is a major major game changer. I know I will still go through with the procedure as I know I will be heading towards serious health problems if I don't make this change.

Please wish me luck. :) :) :) :) :)

So, it begins.

You are about to start down the WLS path. How many forks in the road, or bumps along the pathway you will encounter is unforeseen. Parts of your journey will smack you right between the eyes and take your breath away with its reality checks. However, the joys and thrills should make the stark moments seem like a passing dream.

Exciting? You Bet.

Difficult? At times

Rewarding? Definitely

Exasperating? Oh yeah, but seldom

Rewarding? More than you can imagine right now

I hope you remember that whatever difficulties you may face, there will be others who have faced the same "walls" and have endured. When those times come, please remember us here. Some one on this site will have the answer for you.--everyone will certainly have an opinion anyway! Try to grow a thick skin. It will come in handy with sooo many different points of view. Hopefully, everyone will have your best interest at heart. They all mean well, I'm sure.

After all is said and done: Tomorrow is YOUR day!!!!!

Go and start your new and exciting journey to a healthier and "lighter" happy life.

I wish you nothing except the very best of journeys.

Off you go!!!

Prayers going up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
