Fully realizing that this breaks the commitment to anonymity, but if you have used the tools of Overeaters Anonymous in conjunction with WLS, please send me a message or reply to this thread.

I tried OA a while ago but it never really connected for me. I am beginning to wonder, though, if now might be a better time.

I go to OA and have found it to be a key factor in my WLS success. I resisted working with a sponsor until a couple of months ago and that change has kicked my program into high gear. I am open about my LapBand in my meetings. I haven't found any negative feedback at all. As we here know, the WLS is a tool. Without addressing the mental, emotional and spiritual components of my relationship with food, it's only a matter of time before old habits return.

I credit my years of therapy and OA with a lot of my progress and success since WLS. Things I have learned about myself and my addiction as well as habits and tools I have acquired have been critical.

I know it's been a while since this thread was active, but I'm interested in finding/helping start an online (Skype or Zoom) OA group for WLS patients. I've been searching and searching for one. Do you know of one or are you interested in starting one? Thanks - Cyndi

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
