@@JoannLz - yes definitely keep us posted. I am still on pre-op diet but hoping to get a lift once I lose the weight as well. Belt lipectomy looks tough but results also look amazing! Also, please ask your Dr. what garments you should wear post op. Good luck!

I do not think wearing a tampon would be a very good idea due to toxic shock syndrome. I had started my period day of surgery but it stopped once I was out of surgery. Don't risk dying over something like that. I'm sure many Dr's have seen this before.

On a previous surgery, my doc told me no surgery while on my period because of increased chance of bleeding. Might want to ask your doc. Although I hear quite a few women start while in the hospital due to hormonal changes.

When this happened to me my Dr told me to go to my GP and get the pill to cover me - My GP gave it to me for two months and all was well.. Good luck

I had a TT on June 17 and low and behold my cycle started that morning. I told the nurse when I checked in at the surgery center they said no tampons, but she gave me a pad to use during surgery. Everything went fine. I would certainly call your surgeon's office to confirm that there won't be an issue.

Best wishes on your TT!

I don't think this is a good idea. Most people go off of birth control before surgery, because it increases your chances for clotting issues with surgery. Women get their periods along with surgery all the time - it won't affect your surgery date. They will use a pad, and you will be out, so you won't feel the cramps! :D

I work in surgery. Tons of people have surgery everyday while on their period, and the staff is used to real life issues. Just let the people in preop know and they will help you out. Good luck on you tummy tuck!

Ooh - errr. I never had any problems, and the GP and PS didn't tell me anything like that. It was the 'mini pill' I guess that makes no difference.... In all of the surgeries I have had this was only an issue one time so I guess I was lucky. (I think I was having inner thigh lift at that time)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
