WEDDING PLANNING and WLS????????????

Recommended Posts

So I have a dilemma... I'd like to ask my WLS community! So I'm, pre op VSG and I'm guessing I'm going to have surgery early next year (jan or feb) since I'm on month 2 of my required 6 month diet... Anywho, our goal was to have the wedding 9/26/16... I must reserve the venue exactly the year before our desired wedding date... My question is, should we keep the date or push it back another year... I don't know if I should have surgery AND have my wedding reception the same year... If I keep the date, I'll be about 6-7 months post-op. Is that too risky, dress fitting and all....?! I am really torn! I mean I don't mind pushing our wedding back another year but is it too much stress to handle having those 2 big moments in my life all in one year? What do you guys think!? I'd appreciate all your comments! Thanks yall!!!

Why would having WLS keep you from having a wedding? I know it's a big change, but at 6 or 7 months out when you get married, you will be pretty much eating anything at that point (or know what you can't tolerate). It really only turns your world upside down the first couple months as you're healing and trying to get all your protien and fluids in and navigating what you can and a cannot tolerate. But soon you feel back to normal, just with restriction.

As far as the dress, that's what seamstresses are for. You're just going to have to do last minute alterations. Most people do.

But if you think juggling the wedding planning and WLS is going to be overwhelming for you, by all means postpone it. Stress makes people wanna eat, and if that may be an issue for you, I would say yeah, wait another year when you should be at or close to your goal weight and well into maintenance.

I am with Babbs...only you know what you can handle. I think you would be fine. It might give you something to keep you busy thro the first few months. Could also be a extra reason to exercise more thro the first few months.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
