Uh-oh upper GI needed

Recommended Posts

Im almost 7 months post lapband surgery, went for a normal follow up/fill. I stated i has been experiencing heartburn, so no fill was done and now i need to schedule an upper GI. Even though i take omeprazole every am which helps, i still need this done. Im so worried, what if my band is slipping? Failing? Idk what to do now....HELP!!!!!

My heartburn is not to where i burp and it burns my throat, sometimes i just eat too much and then i cant pass the air, feels like its stuck in my back, taking a pill helps the situation, or even a gas x strip helps. Is this a sign of slippage??!!!!

@@PSRS520 try not to think the worst. Go for the upper GI and let them check it out for you. Perhaps you are a bit too full or your stoma is irritated from the acid.

For now if you can try sticking to some liquids and/or soft foods and give the stoma a chance to heal if it's irritated and perhaps the swelling will go down and you will feel better.

It's always good to have the upper GI though and they can get a really clear picture of what's going on. I had one when I switched Dr.'s and I was happy that they didn't find anything wrong with my band or my insides :)

Let us know how your doing.

I wouldnt worry too much about it. I just had to have one on Wed last week. Its basically so they can see how fluids are passing from your mouth to your stomach. While being able to watch the Fluid as it goes down they will have a better way of evaluating if you have too much Fluid and if your esophagus is working properly. Feel free to email me if you want. good151@comcast.net

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
