I feel so full...

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve surgery June 22. No real problems- however, I am finding it increasingly difficult to get all my required liquids in.I am sipping Vitamin Water xxx zero ( which I like alot) but after a few sips I feel uncomfortably full. Eating is a chore, too.I have found that even 1/4 cup or 3 tablespoons of something makes feel so full... however, I LOVE and can tolerate 1 cup of yoghurt. Greek yohurt, and regular . Anyone else has similiar issues?

Do you mean June or July 22? Either way that sounds pretty normal. I'm 6/30 and I manly feel like that with dense Proteins now.

It's very frustrating! ! I feel like I want to eat, (but without any hunger)- then eat a few mouthfuls - and I feel stuffed!! I should be rejoicing at my constant and steady weight loss- however, I worry that I'm not getting all my fluids and Protein in

You sound like your doing fine and things are normal. It takes a little while to get up to your goal for food and fluids. Give yourself time

I got my sleeve June 10. I have been having a horrible time with Water. I've been really thirsty but am lucky to get down 25 oz in an entire day. My NUT suggested iced herbal tea and today I've been able to drink just over 50 oz! Don't know why I can handle tea, but water makes me sick. But hey, just happy that it works.

@BariartricBarb I am 13 months post op and Water still bothers me. It's weird; my sleeve can tolerate almost any kind of food but it's so picky about fluids. I can do Vitamin water and propel (black cherry and peach only). Fluids are always a struggle for me

Is it that you don't like taste or temp of water or are you having pain? Try changing temp or adding a squirt of lemon. If it is pain try sipping very slow.

@@Bndtoslv, My problem is pain a nausea. I've always been a Water drinker. Have never gone for soda or flavored drinks. It doesn't matter if the water is tepid or cold. I've tried flavor enhancers and don't like the taste. This has been the biggest and hardest change for me. I was final able to get all of my Fluid yesterday by drinking the tea. I just hope this isn't a forever thing

Have you tried Diet V8 Splash there drink is very flavorful but I have to really dilute cause I'm having some problems with anything sweet. But I like the tropical one it's more of an orange flavor.

I'm having a problem with sweets as well. But I'll dilute it and give it a try

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
