Going private - how much did you pay?

Recommended Posts

Just curious for those of us who have opted not to go the NHS route, how much are you paying for private treatment?

Mine is £8,000.

Hi Chris! I've just seen that you had surgery with the BMI hospital! Been looking for someone that has! I am scheduled for 4th December at BMI Alexander with Dr. Basil Ammori. Is this the same doctor/hospital by any chance? Would love to hear about your experience!

No it's not the same hospital or doctor but I think that you will be in good hands. I found all the staff and surgeon to be kind considerate and competent at the job. I only had a bit of gas pain and on mentioning this I was given pain relief.

Would I recommend them yes I would. Good luck to you x

Guys, is going out of the UK to surgery done in say Belgium or Czech Republic worth it or not?

its fraction of the price, £3950 but there must be something init for British doctors to be charging £9950.

Also im wondering if you guys can shed some light on this, i am 5ft 7in, 14st 5lb and BMI is just under 32. I have aches and pains when i am this weight (i say when because i have fluctuated between 12stone and 17stones over the last 10 years). I am having trouble with controlling weight as time passes. Just want an engineering control to assist on top of my will power and efforts.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
