weighed 980 pounds- lost 650 lbs :o

wonderful, wonderful for this guy

i'm going to play devils advocate :(

(someone has to  )

"probably" gaining, gaining, gaining all his life

very sad, unhealthy etc.

reaching almost 1,000 lbs :o

i think it might/will be hard to change his eating ways

we all know

crazy/stupid/unknowing people say that having surgery is ......

The Easy Way Out"

yeah right

i hope Paul can change his ways/lifestyle

maintenance is/can be very hard

he needs to continue to follow plan forever

small portions

Protein

64 oz of water+

etc

he is starting to experience wonderful NSV's

ie showering standing, no more wheelchair, sensation in feet, able to walk, getting in and of bed easier

many more NSV's to come :)

i hope he can continue being successful :)

best wishes being sent his way

Kathy

you know, i finally watched an episode of my 600 pound life, i wont do that again though, but i found myself cheering for the guy who was on screen and then getting pissed when he screwed up etc. When he was drinking multiple cans of diet coke 2 to 3 weeks after surgery.. or eating french fries and onion rings, potato chips etc. I dont yell this loud during my sports teams games. . but he did well, it took him 5 years to lose 440 pounds but he did, the show ended with him marrying his previously estranged girlfriend after he lost all the weight, and she even had vsg too. then they ended by saying in memory of him, as it turns out he died of a heart problem a year after losing all the weight....

I hate that show now lol.

my point ( which is rambling) is that it is so much harder now to watch or read, and not get invested in the outcomes. Sometimes i want to help people so much, i know it could easily turn into an obsession or compulsion, and I could turn into that nosy busybody who wont mind their own business.

Sigh, Then i have to kep reminding myself, there but for the grace of god go I..etc. Sigh.

@@Stevehud - I saw that episode and had the exact same thoughts! And that was only 4 days before my surgery. It was heartbreaking when I saw the message at the end.

I will say though that watching this show (in marathon form several times) helped me know what NOT to do

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
