Late May 2015 surgery date - check in!

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery (RNY) on Wed May 20 and came home on Friday. Doing well at home, trying to wean off pain meds, because I'm "too energetic" after taking them (overdoing the laundry and stairs!) Sipping on shakes and Water all day. So far things are going well.

I know a lot of us had late May surgery dates. How are you doing?

I had surgery on May 19th. Doing ok. Light housework, struggling on getting my liquids in though. Stomach sometimes out of the blue feels likes it's turning or something, not painful but uncomfortable .

Had my RNY on May 19th. I'm doing really well. I can get all my Water, Vitamins, and Protein Drinks in with no trouble. The only issues I'm having are with my head. I miss food. I can't wait for the two weeks to be over so I can have some soft foods. ????

Maureen - The RN in my clinic just made a lot of suggestions for added Protein as I progress to puréed foods. (Yay!) 1) Greek yogurt and Protein Drink added to a fruit smoothie 2) Applesauce with cottage cheese (I had it tonight, heavenly!) 3) Mashed potatoes with chicken breast (puréed for now).

May 19th, a lot of fatigue and side pain from the largest incision. Had two episodes of dumping from dairy but otherwise slow and steady!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
