Hey all,

On April 28th I got the roux-en-y bypass. This is my first surgery. I didn't have any pre-existing health issues.

The surgery went great. However I noticed I was getting a numb/sleepy/pain in my left leg above my knee. I reported it to my nurse while in the the hospital and they gave me blood thinners and anti coagulation as well. I don't have any swelling, redness or heat. It only hurts so far when I am putting pressure on it for a long period of time. My surgeon told me it is probably a bruised nerve and should be gone in 2 weeks. When the pain hits it feels as though there is someone squishing the veins in that portion of my leg. I can fully rotate it and move my toes with no problems or pain.

Is this common?

I have the same thing going on! I have my post op on wen so I'll bring that up and see what the surgeon tells me. I had my surgery on the 23rd of April. I think it's the numbness from being in the hospital bed .. I feel like if a small cold Water stream is going down my knee and numbness . I had a Doppler done before being released so I doubt it's a blood clot. I'll keep you posted

Basically the surgeon said it has to do with extra Water and circulation. Need to walk more and try bed exercises. I'm doing much better today hope all is good..

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
