I'm scheduled to get the Gastric Sleeve on April 30th. I'm worried about the pain after surgery & the recovery time. For those of you who had the surgery how was your experience?

Pain wise...port area was worst due to band removal.

Hardest thing with sleeve is getting enough Water the first month

I didn't have much pain, but was extremely nauseous. Even when I got home I only took medicine for pain once and that was the first day I was home. My best advice is to walk and walk often (even if you don't feel like it). This will help!

Last April I had to have emergency removal of my lap band. That was a very hard and painful ordeal for me. I overcame many fears and I was just sleeved on 4/14/15. This surgery recovery and healing is much better than what I experienced last year. I truly am surprised at how it's been going well. I was very nauseous the first few days. It was difficult to function this way and with such low calorie intake. But after about 3 days, it got a lot better. I was able to start taking in more fluids and even small bits of my Protein Shake. The Pepcid complete, gas X strips and Vitamins daily really do help!! Just be patient and don't over due yourself. I know everyone's journey is different. But just know it will get better. Just one day at a time.

My recovery was very smooth. I didn't bother to take any prescription pain meds because I didn't want the nausea and I was fine without them. I felt like recovery is easier for revision patients because we went thru it before

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
