Just had sleeve surgery Friday 3/27

Having a lot of trouble getting in the Protein and Water

Also I am taking 17 prescription drugs I can't see how I can get them all in

I'm putting them off for several days until the sleeve inflammation goes down

Fell horrible

Any suggestions?

@@bbaron, I have lyme and also have to take about 20 meds per day. It was quite tough in the beginning and even now I have to do them in batches. I had gotten instructs from my Dr on what I needed to take w/out interruption and what I could put off. Also got some temporary alternatives for the ones that were horse pills. Water in the am makes me nauseated so thst is tough still. G2 Gatorade helped in the beginning to get the stuff down. BUT it does get better.

@@agalindo17 good for you. Agree, theres a lot of good info and support here. Also, have you read Alex's book?

Hi I am on my 5th day and starting to get hungry. Sorta getting tired of Jello and popsicles! Yesterday I started my Protein Shake w skim milk. So weird that my mouth wants the crunch and food tell textures. Anyone having the same thing? And no bm for three days, but I don't feel bad because of it....

@@pattyr are you allowed chicked/beef/vegetable broth. If so, have some. I was only allowed those along with Jello & Popsicles for the first two weeks. Head hunger was getting to me, to the point where I had to cook for my family, serve dinner, then head to the bedroom cuz I just wanted to chew something so bad. One day, I actually took a bite of chicken , chewed it to smithereens, sucked out all the flavor, then spit it out! Lol

No bm is kind of normal at first since you're not consuming actually food. I actually had the worst case of Constipation the first 4 weeks. It was horrible. try to make sure you get in enough fluids, especially if you're getting in your Protein. If not, you will regret it when you're backed up. =/

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
