Hi all,

I have been stalled since new years! I lost 27 pounds in 3 weeks post op, and now nothing!

How have you gotten over your stall? I'd really appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

I have stalled too! I am so beyond frustrated. I don't know if I'm not getting enough calories (500-600 daily) or if I am doing something wrong. I am 8 weeks post-op. I'm scared... what if I don't lose anymore?Yes, any input would be wonderful! :)

Stalls are the worst aren't they! I have had one big stall that lasted almost a month. For me I learned that I was not eating enough and exercising too much. As soon as I made changes I saw the pounds star dropping off.

Now, I think I may have another stall happening, I sure hope not.

I have been stuck for just under a week now. I am trying to break the stall by trying a different form of exercise later in the day.

I have learned from research that if your body gets use to the same routine it can stall as well.

They are very frustrating.

By the way, don't be afraid of not losing more. You just need to make sure you are getting your Protein, Water and are exercising. Even though the scale may say one thing you are likely losing inches. The stall will break if you are following the plan.

I had a one month stall. I tried everything to stop the stall and nothing happened. I then went back to what I was doing before. Protein first, 64 oz plus Water and my exercise. The stall stopped a few days later. I figured for me anyway that my body was the deciding factor in when to start loosing weight again. My advice is just stay the course as directed by your Nut and you'll come out of the stall eventually.

I was too lost about 30lbs within the first 3 weeks and then nothing. Last week I changed up my meals, added a fruit, coconut milk and Protein powder shake in the morning, followed by meals like black Beans and cheese for lunch and soyrizo with potatoes for dinner. I worked out only three weekdays and a hike on the weekend and weightloss started up again. Adding calories, good ones, and doing a little less excercise definitely helped. Our bodies are so smart and they definitely do react to routines. I realized that from now on I will just rotate my meal plans and exercise routines and hopefully that will help keep weightloss going.

Think about how much weight you have lost. Amazing results. It isn't too surprising that the body needs time to recalculate in order to start losing again.

I have to admit that I did the same as y'all. I stalled at 3 weeks and thought I had some sort of problem because it lasted well over two weeks. I could not believe it. Now, at two months out, I have lost a total of 50 lbs. That is really amazing.

Thanks I really needed to read this!, i also at 3 weeks hit a stall I've lost 28lbs and was happy and figured it was normal. went to my nutritionist and she freaked out because I had only lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks. Total 30 lbs total in 3 weeks. Happy to know I'm not alone and this is normal.

I am 3 months out and have been stuck for a few weeks now. I had lost 48 pounds but then everything just stopped. I'm having crazy cravings. Pickles of all things. It's the sodium my problem?

Hmm...you all are posting significant weight loss. I thought I was doing alright, I even posted earlier this month, but I'm starting to think I need to consult a nutritionist. Tomorrow is my 2nd month since surgery and I have only lost 30 lbs. 25 of those pounds I lost within the first 3 weeks, what is going on? I'm eating balanced meals, excercising, taking my Vitamins...how long is this stall going to last. Seems like things should have kick started back up again by now. Sigh***

Just remember, the lower your weight gets the slower your weight loss (usually.)

It's extremely frustrating. I stalled before New Years. Started losing again in February but it's slow. I was 198 right before Xmas and now I am 192.

If you aren't lifting weights, start. That's is a big help and has started to get my weight down. Also my measurements are smaller too.

I just bought two shirts and a skirt from Ann Taylor Loft and New York and Co! I have NEVER been able to buy from those stores.

And guess what, the large skirt from Anne Taylor is now too big!

Be patient. It's going to get better.

While it is a comfort to know that others are at a stall at the 6 week period, it doesn't make me feel better. When I went to my 6 week appointment, i had only lost 10 lbs in a month for a total of 32 lbs in 8 weeks. Yes, that's a lot of weight in 8 weeks, but emotionally, I can't seem to get past it. its been nearly 3 weeks at a stall. I've been exercising since the 4 week mark. I'm at about 1/4 cup of food and about 700-800 calories a day. I do 64 grams of Protein a day. My one downfall- the Water...I can't seem to get it in. (is this a sabotage?)

I don't know if I'm not getting enough calories or too many. My doctor wasn't any help. He likes to get patients in the door, but he leaves much to be desired in the after-care category. Their response to my slow weight loss... 45 minutes of cardio 5 days a week (I'm currently doing 30).

I honestly don't think they believe that I'm following the "plan."

I don't feel like I have the tools to know what to do differently. How do I know if my calories are too much or not enough? How do I know if my exercise regimen is good? I'm not giving up- I know slow and steady wins the race, but I just can't get my emotional side to accept this.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
