Does WLS Help a Spouse Lose Weight?

Recommended Posts

When I got serious and decided I wanted to pursue RNY, I of course, changed my diet/eating habits. My boyfriend hated to eat in front of me because it made him feel bad for me, so he in turn, changed his diet/eating habits as well. I'm not saying he doesn't occasionally snack or have ice-cream (which I encourage him too, as it does not bother me in the least)... but just having better habits and a healthier diet helped him out. I had him get on the scales the other day, as I noticed how big his clothes were getting, and he had lost 37# without even trying. Since Feb. Not bad for just altering his diet to help support me... He doesn't need to lose much more and really didn't look overweight to being with, but it's nice that he supports me and tries not to tempt me. We are living a much healthier lifestyle for sure.

Yes, you'll lose weight if if you eat less food (go on a diet).

He's not going to infect you with any weight losing fairy dust.

Of course, if you don't bring any junk food into the house to support him, you can't eat that junk food either. So there's that.

My husband doesn't have much to lose but has said in the last week or so that he'd like to a lose a few pounds. Has never mentioned it before.Shouldn't be hard with me stealing a bite or two here and there instead of having my own portion. I have also switched the dish he gets his desert in to a smaller one. Some days he doesn't even get desert as I forget to make something not being as hungry myself.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
