Many people who are post surgery have nausea. Call your Dr. and ask for Zofran or another anti nausea medication. It will really help. I had the problem of the smell of foods for a while too. Mine went away by the time I was allowed back on soft foods. Nausea can also be caused by Constipation. Any chance you are having that problem? If you are dehydrated you could also be constipated - if you are try Dulcolax.

I most definitely would contact your Dr. so he can provide some relief for you!

Best wishes and keep us posted!

Hi Susan - I can sympathize completely... I'm also in week five post op and have had a similar issue- Constant, relentless nausea and severe dehydration with no ability to eat or drink.

I was hospitalized about two weeks ago for 8 days. During that time they did an endoscopy which revealed an ulcer and a stricture. They said that could be the cause of my nausea and definitely the inability to eat/drink. Since they released me from the hospital I've been on IV nutrition (TPN) via a Picc line. I go back to have the stricture dilated on Wednesday so hopefully things are going to get better soon.

You may want to ask your doctor about an endoscopy if the nausea and whatnot continues...

I'm thinking of you!!!! We will get through this!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
