KimberlyBranco7,

I've found that I can eat rice at over 6 months out BUT I choose to eat VERY little. I eat Protein first and foremost because that is what my body needs. The rice fills me up too quickly and I just don't want to use what little space my sleeve has only to be hungry in a very short period of time. Not lion roaring hunger like before the sleeve but that little twinge that says "hey, you need to eat something". I find if I watch the carbs, and that is all rice is--my weight loss is much better.

Instead of rice, tell them u would like it wrapped in soy paper or seaweed. Yum!

I ask that the sushi chef uses the least amount of rice possible. I also ask that the pieces be cut about half as tall as normal, otherwise the bite is too big for me. Most restaurants are happy to comply. The few that haven't been have lost out on a very consistent customer.

I had sushi tonight. I'm almost 6 weeks post op and on regular diet (save for grains). I got the crab naruto roll which has no rice and is wrapped in cucumber and I also got some sashimi tuna. In all I ate about 1 1/2 pieces of the roll and 1 piece of the tuna. It was amazing :)

I'm 5 months out and eat sushi all the time. Started at month 3 with no problem. Eat very slow bc all if the sudden you'll feel full, rice is weird!

I love sushi! I will eat sashimi just because I like that better - super white tuna - yumm - but you should have what you like, just in moderation!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
