Anyone find themselves hungry and eating constantly? Like every 2.5 hours?

Calories still are only around 800 but it just seems like so much of my day is spent eating.

I used to eat a lot at onetime but it was still in only 3 meals a day. This is different. I'm 7 weeks post op.

Are you taking a PPI? They say that acid mimics hunger. Is it head hunger? 600- 800 cals is about what I get at 6 weeks out so that sounds ok. I eat Breakfast, lunch dinner and an evening snack. I get hungry before meal times but not too much in between. Do you have a provider you can ask about your meal plan? I am in the soft foods stage and they initially recommended 3 meals and 2 mid-day Snacks of 4oz Protein shake but OKed the way I am doing it now.

Also are you getting your Protein? Protein and some good fats make you stay fuller longer.

I do get my 70 grams of Protein in. I really don't think it's head hunger. It feels like the real thing and I'm taking a ppi.

Is it possible that I'm eating too few carbs which causes it? Mfp says I eat about 45 percent Protein, 40 percent fat, and only 15 percent carbs.

I'm 11 months out and I eat 5-6 times per day, 3 meals and at least 2, sometimes 3 Snacks. It does feel like I'm eating all the time. I exercise 5x per week, get 75+g of Protein and take a ppi 2x day. I do get hungry, but I can't say I'm starving every time it's "time" to eat these days. Now that I'm in maintenance, I usually need the 3rd snack to get my calories up to the point I'm not in deficit for the day. Who knew this could EVER be a thing? I'm with Hawk... try some good fats. Are you allowed nuts yet? If not avocado can help. Limited carbs can help as well as long as you're active enough to take in the calories.

Just looked at my records. Don't know if this could be it but I usually get between 80 and 100g of protein a day.

We eat one meal a day, and drink bouillion, eat SF popsicles, when hungry. Lots of Crystal Light. The key for us is staying busy and out of the kitchen, and most important, have no chips/snacks/sugar in the house. There are so many doctors/guidelines/rules. Thank God our surgeon told us not to eat 3 meals a day, eat only when hungry, and just eat healthy. Good luck, I know it is hard sometimes.

Am 2 months out -6/24- and I eat evry 2.5/3 hours or I find myself a starvin marvin

Breakfast at 830/900 (3 ounces oatmeal or Special K or 4 ounces yogurt)

snack 11 (usually cheese or deli meat or a piece of fruit)

lunch 1-130 (today was a really whopping meatball couldn't finish it)

Snack 3:30-400 (roasted chick peas and 1 ounce beef jerky)

dinner never beyond 7 ( hanger steak today. Will see how that goes in a few minutes)

If I go beyond 7 I get really bad acid.

I eat about every 2-3 hours. If I don't, I get really worm out, and I can't eat enough to catch up. I don't eat much, something small like a cheese stick or similar. But yeah, tiny little meals all the time.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
