Is there anyone out there who regrets getting the sleeve?

Recommended Posts

I was banded for 17 years (one revision 7 years in due to slippage). I got sleeved 7 1/2 weeks ago and so far I'm thrilled with the results. I'm being very cautious about what I reintroduce into my diet, though. I'm on 2 Protein shakes a day, cottage cheese or yogurt, some sort of Protein ( like shrimp) and a few bites of vegetables. I plan to stay away from bread, Pasta, and rice for as long as possible.

I'm also staying away from a favorite band-friendly staple: the flour tortilla!

I'm the same way punchcake????. Unfortunately, I'm back on a "diet" as opposed to eating less of the healthy foods I normally eat. I was put on medication to help with the hunger pangs and I have to admit it has helped a bit. I'm eating no more than 800 calories a day and all of those consist of protein- grilled chicken, shakes and cottage cheese. I'm hoping this will allow weight to come off so that I don't have to have a bypass as I'm really not wanting to do that.

Did you have a band prior to the sleeve, or was this your first experience with weight loss surgery?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
