After Lap Band removal, How long Did You Wait To Revise

I am curious to know how long did you have to wait after band removal before revising

Band removal is called "revision". To have a different procedure, my doctor says 6 months or longer. My insurance company says one and done..won't approve a 2nd procedure even though #1 's revision was not my doing. Sad. I really miss my band. My doctor says I can't have another band either..too much scar tissue at the stoma area. Really stinks..I have gained over 20 pounds since my band was removed on 4/25...I really need help..I have zero self control, that's why I got the band as a tool to help me with control.

"I have gained over 20 pounds since my band was removed on 4/25...I really need help..I have zero self control, that's why I got the band as a tool to help me with control. "

That is a concern of many Bandsters should removal be necessary.

As a staunch advocate of 'behavioral modification' via use of our rational brain, we have to make a daily choice of just what elbow bending to perform, and just what to stick in our mouths.

When I am able to confine my concentration on *desirable* goals vs *undesirable* results via the "Oh look what happened to me" school of aberrant behavior, IE when I continued to overeat, I do have success Abandoning the Goal and ignoring each little step we take in our Fall from moving toward that Goal. does require hard work of 'denial' and 'pretense', which is another kind of fantasy game dictated by various bodily habits.

When I work for the Goal my Brain has chosen, I have control. When I fall into despair and depression, I lose control just as you describe.

However, simply 'losing control' doesn't mean it has to STAY lost. Every day demands a step toward our Goal, whether

Banded or not.

I haven't revised to anything yet, I just had the band (taken out) 3 weeks ago. I haven't gained any weight either and I'm being cautious about my eating. I was referring to anyone that may have had their band (taken out) and waited a certain amount of time before a revision to RNY. Thanks for the knowledge!

Hi...I had my band removed about 7 weeks ago due to a major slippage. I have gained about 6 kg in that time...even with being very careful...I had my band for 4 years, and lost 40 kgs....I definitely need help.

My surgeon demanded 4 months between, but as I have a holiday in Spain planned for a Month in October, I will be having the sleeve in November....

I cannot wait!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
