Ive been told I no longer have to wait 6 months

Recommended Posts

I have been thinking about the gastric sleeve for awhile now and i began going to a surgical center in northern Kentucky. At first I was told I had to wait six months but now I'm being told I don't. The only issue with that is my center I'm currently with does not accept my new insurance so I feel like I'm starting over in a way. I'm not sure what to do.

I had to switch half way through too. I did 4 months in one program & then switched to a new one. It was pretty seamless. They had all of the appointment notes, tests, etc from the first place so I just picked up where they left off & had my surgery scheduled after the first visit. I definitely didn't have to start the process over.

Good luck to you!

I don't know what to do. I am 4 months into the process and don't even know if my insurance has been filed. The surgeon I went with is great but I've had to call his office twice to get them to schedule the tests I need to get approved. I do a few tests and never hear anything back. It took a month to get a call back when I called to see if the insurance approved my claim. I finally got a call back today. They wanted more information from my PCP...which I called and got. I don't want to start all over with another surgeon but I can't count on his staff to do what needs to be done. How long did it take for you to get your tests done and scheduled for surgery. I am so stressed.

I started my journey on March 3rd, this year. My surgery is scheduled for June 25th. When I have surgery I will have been waiting 114 days for it. I did not have to do a 3 or 6 month diet. I could of got a date in May but I have to take care of a financial matter before I can have my surgery.

I have been told I did have to wait 6 months but I started in January so I only have 3 months left to wait, I'm looking at it as a blessing because some people don't even get there surgery covered. During the 6 months I have to do various things like count calories, track steps, and write down everything I eat. I'm getting surgery in September and I'm so excited!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
