I wasn't trying to offend anyone. If it wasn't for insurance, I'd be on the first flight. I went through hell and high Water to get the insurance to pay for my surgery. I just noticed not just on this site, the scars seemed to me to be more severe. I know everyones pain tolerance and healing is different. I really like reading everyones surgery and recovery stories. And seeing pictures. I'll be posting a few of my own soon! Sue

Hi Sue,

Smile. I hope no one became offended.

It is a honest observation. I am happy you brought this up.

It is something I noticed about scars and pain in the hundreds of stories I have read too, and It is common all over the world. That is why research, research, research should be our top priority before choosing a Plastic Surgeon.

For me, among many other things, straight scar lines were very important!

My Full Story is on this site on my profile page if you click on Story.

In my research, many people may not realize that some of the plastic surgery doctors are not doing the surgeries, but students are. Some of the really big nice plastic surgery facilities in Mexico with Board Certified Plastic Surgeons are teaching hospitals and are allowing students to do the surgeries.

I have observed this myself when I am in the operating room with the doctor, when a student is in there, sometimes they allow the student do the surgery. I understand it is the way students learn, hands on practice.

I am not saying it is wrong. This practice is done around the world to teach.

I encourage everyone looking for a plastic surgeon to really do research, either here in the United States, Mexico, or any other place in the world. It is important to ask questions and know who is actually doing your surgery while you are under anesthesia. Please ask the right questions. Read as many reviews as possible, look at thousands of pictures, and do not let cost cloud your judgment.

I look forward to seeing your pictures.

Thanks Sue.

May I ask how you got insurance to pay for it when I was overweight there were all for it now that the cyst and rashes have gone they won't
It took a while! Rashes backaches had to be documented. I started in the summer showing my doctor rashes under my boobs belly and between my legs. Which prevents me from exercising. Then they would only do it if I had more than the minimum amount of skin to remove and at least 2 bra sizes.

OK The countdown is on! Surgery Friday! Circumferal BodyLift and Pubis liposuction Friday. Love reading all the do's and don'ts. Loading up on Protein and hitting the treadmill hard! Still extreamly nervous. Dr said 7 - 8 hr surgery. I hate being put under, and I've never been put under that long! Guess I'll load up on xanax the day before. He gave me morpine pills for after! Never knew it came in pill form. Got me a new reclining chair to live in, sweats and a lanyard.

I loved the posts about what to and not to take to the hospital.

Am I missing anything?

Sue

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
