Yes, I am female, 72 and 6 weeks out from conversion surgery-band to sleeve. Feel great and have had no problems.

Hi...glad to find you here on this forum. Not so many of us in our age group. How long had you had the band and what caused you to be doing the conversion to sleeve? I had initially thought I wanted the band...but now am believing the sleeve is the right procedure for me. I have been to the info session and also my first appointment at Lahey Clinic in Ma... saw nutritionist, nurse practitioner (a wonderful woman) and a psychologist...came away feeling at ease and confident in the choice. If all goes well with the upper GI series next month and Medicare and NH Anthem BCBS approve I should be having the surgery in September. I am looking forward to it and getting my body back...it won't be how it looks nearly as much as how I feel.

Meanwhile I will join a gym for exercise and take off some weight!

Would love to hear about your experiences. Where did you have it done?

This is an exciting time for you. Have you met any resistance related to your age? Please check your private Verticalsleevetalk mail. I'm going to write you a personal email.

Good morning and thank you for the personal email. I did get your number and will give you a call. When is a good time for you? I am in Eastern time and don't want to call you at 0-dark-30 your time!

I am really happy to find you, someone my own age, who has had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy so recently.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
