BREAKOUT: Face After Surgery

Recommended Posts

So, I used to have perfectly clear skin.....before surgery at least. Since surgery, my skin has gone nutz. Just on my face, I mean blemishes on top of blemishes. Any one else experience this after surgery?

You should contact your surgeon. It sounds like an allergic reaction to something. I have some allergies to meds that affect my face only - it's like a rosacea flare up.

I had an eczema-like rash on my face about a week after surgery. I contacted Dr. Aceves and he said he had never heard of anything like that, but then a week later, he e-mailed me to say he just had a patient with the same issue, so maybe it IS possible that it's a delayed reaction to an anesthetic or some other medications they give you. I had also gotten a pertussis shot the day it started, and it has been linked to eczema, especially in children who've had eczema before (which I did as a child), so I figured it was most likely due to the vaccination, but I guess a medication reaction from surgery is also possible. Some medication reactions, including scary ones like Stevens-Johnson, take up to 6 months to develop! I self-medicated with topical corticosteroids (I'm terrible, I know), but it didn't completely clear up for a good month.

I wish you well in finding out what it is, hopefully nothing and will pass soon.

I had exactly the opposite reaction, my otherwise bumpy broken out skin got real smooth and cleared up nicely.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
