Bye lap-band - it's been real, a real pain!

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the words of encouragement. This is a LapBand AP system. Thursday's the day it comes out.

If anyone has converted to a gastric sleeve, I'd be interested in hearing your story.

You'll find quite a few converts @ http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/forum/13-band-to-gastric-sleeve-revisions/ .

I wish you luck and success!! If you need any tips on maintaining your weight after the surgery, just let me know!! It's been 18 months since mine was removed, and I'm maintaining!! It isn't easy, but you can do it. Also, I understand your want of relief from the pain. :-)

Thanks for the well wishes. The band is gone, and I'm recovering from the surgery. I can tell this was the right decision because I can take deep breaths again, and no longer feel the foreign object in my chest.

Best of luck to everyone on your journey. I'm going to take the holistic approach now, before considering surgery again.

Take care,

Patti

I just spoke with my surgeon it takes 3-5 days to feel better like the band is no longer there he said that it takes time for the stomache to soften up and not feel like its still in there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
