hey gang... just for my first consultation and I know it's a little soon but i noticed on another thread someone said they were ready for their procedure and all packed up and had their post op goodies all ready to go I was just curious as to what other people had READY TO GO for the first few days after their procedure. I will be going 400 miles away for my procedure and will be in a hotel for the first 2 days and then staying at my families house for the next day or so... just curious as to what I need to start gathering up for my POST OP GOODIES... i have already decided I need to purchase a really good juicer/smoothie maker for the mushy stage any tips on what guys used to MAKE YOUR MUSHY STUFF?

Thanks gang!

Well, my surgery is 5 weeks out and I have already ordered some Protein mix from BariatricEating.com I saw someone post on here that they have a sample pack so I got one of those to figure out what flavors I like before stocking up.

I have previously purchased a Magic Bullet to puree vetables and freeze to add to Soups and other recipes. (I read Jerry Signfield's wife's cook book and got on a kick) It works great and I think it will be perfect for making shakes and smoothies. It comes w/ 4 or 6 mugs. I used to think, why do I need all of these, and now I am glad to have them.

I was banded 2 weeks ago and before my surgery my fridge was full of, Vitamin Water, iceopure, and popsicles I lived on those 3 things for the first 7 days. Then I was alowed full liquids so I made sure my pantry was stocked with good high Protein shakes!

:thumbup:smittenkitten.... thank you! that list is exactly what I was looking for ... I know it's a little earlier in my planning but my husband and I are both having the procedure done at the same time so I wanted to know what I needed to purchase ahead of time and since I have to get double the supplies this will allow me to buy a little at a time before the big day... thank a bunch GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

My husband and I also got banded together! We were going to do it the same day....thank god we changed our minds about that. He was banded in October then I went a month later. If we were both down at the same time it would have been hell! Congrats and its so great having such awesome support!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
