Looking for those who started with BMI 35 or less

Are there any other banders out there with a starting BMI of 35 or less? I'm getting my band in 1 week and I would love to hear about your experence with the band and how the weightloss is going. Thanks for any response!

I love watching everyone's progress, it's really exciting.

I've not felt hungry for the last few days, but not due my first fill for weeks, so there can't be any restriction - can there? I

'm eating solids with no problem, but after a small banana or half a cup of soup, I just don't fancy any more and stop - is this just my head - or am I really feeling the result of the band?

I've lost nearly 3 kilos (6lbs) in 2 weeks.

LongBay - I thought that too but come to find out, I had 3cc's in my band after surgery and I had no idea...

SoExcited - Yea for you! I'm so happy for you. Being under 200 has to feel great!

The scale moved today !! I am 196 OMG I have not seen that # since college!

I know, isn't it great! Congrats :smile2:

Thanks for the info homewith2 - I'll ask my surgeon if he put anything in the band.

Well done so excited.

Yes, we are home of the KU Jayhawks. It's a beautiful place to live. Small town but not too small! We love it.

I'm 4 days post fill and I feel great. I really think this could be my sweet spot. Is that possible with being only 8 weeks from surgery?

You could be there already, but you might wait to decide for a couple weeks. A lot can happen in that two weeks including getting even tighter. Hope it is perfect !!!!

How are we doing low BMI'ers?

I finally got rebanded a little while ago and hope to start losing weight soon. Since I dont have anything in my band right now I can eat anything and everything and never feel full after the portions I should be eating.... at least I am not gaining.

Gotta stay positive :cursing: Hope everyone else is doing good.

I was just banded yesterday and found this thread today. Still sore today and moving a little slow. :cursing: Do you find that you loose wait slower with a lower BMI?

Hi all: My BMI is at 35 and I have high blood pressure. My doc thought I was a good candidate for this surgery. Did all the tests, saw all the drs required by my ins...even got a date in Aug for surgery then BCBS said my BMI is not high enough and they do not consider Hi Blood Pressure a comorbidity??? My Dr. called in support of doing the surgery but BCBS denied it. After seven months of preparing for this I am disheartened. I did send an appeal letter to them but don't have too much faith in it.cat lady
