PCOS lap-band, what weight to start trying at??

Recommended Posts

Hello all I was banded on 2/6/09, I weighed 345lbs before my surgery and am down to 250! I'm 5'10 so I'm still above where I should be. The whole reason I got the band besides to get healthy was because of my PCOS and the fact that my husband and I want a baby so badly. I'm 32 years old and don't want to wait that much longer. I'm currently on birth control and am just wondering about other peoples PCOS banding stories. I have an appt with my endocrinologist on Jan, 8th to come off birth control and am hoping to start clomid in March. How long after stopping the pill did any of you get a BFP? Any stories would help! Thanks

I had been on the pill for a little over 10 years. I came off the pill July 2006 and found out I was pregnant August 2006 (Before surgery) I was 214 when I got pregnant. Then I went back on the pill and off it April 2009. Found out I was pregnant May 2009 at 195 then I miscarried a week later. I gained weight tried again June 2009 and found out I was pregnant July 2009 at 207 pounds. I am 5'3''. My husband likes to joke that he has super sperm lol. I know that it isn't easy for everyone to get pregnant right away so don't get discouraged...just have fun trying  Also my doctor had me start folic acid before trying or you could start prenatals before trying. It's good for you and for the baby you will conceive! Don't look at it like it's work...have fun. Try new things, have sex often and just enjoy it!!! I'm around if you ever need to chat or have any questions!!! Good luck and have FUN!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
