Heather, don't be in a hurry - my doc got aggressive with one fill, I had to be emptied the next day and started all over. I've decided that I'll sneak up on that sweet spot this time. To be emptied and start over cost me a month of progress (IMO). My last fill was .3cc. I still need more, but I'm not going to let them put in too much at once again. BIG MISTAKE.

Hang in there, you'll be at restriction soon.

I was banded June 15 and am a mere 30 lbs down (need to change my "Ticker"). I didn't feel any restriction until my 4th fill and didn't hit my sweet spot until my 6th fill. It is so funny to me how different each doc can be. I do know that when my doc moved to a new office that has this "special chair" for doing fills, he was able to get me to my sweet spot. He lays me back till I'm almost upside down, finds my port, sticks the needle in and then sits me up -- not all the way up, but enough that I can drink Water after each fill. If I can swallow the Water without a problem after "x" cc's then I am good but (and this happened to me), if I can't get the water down my throat he knows he has put too much in and removes it until I am comfortable. That was about a month ago and I have seen much better weight loss results since then.

There is nothing more frustrating than having a "tool" (the lap band) that you cannot use! I hope you get restriction soon. Best of luck to you!

A MERE 30 pounds??????? 30 pounds is a lot! I was banded June 12th and I have lost about 15-20. I have had 2 fills but right now feel little restriction. Only when I eat certain things and mostly in the morning. I can still hold more than I should be eating, however I do eat less than before being banded. I know this is going to take time, it seems some people lose more slowly and I am one of them. that's okay...as long as the scale is moving in the right direction!

I can only imagine how frustrating it is for you all who take months to find restriction. I was very fortunate to have restriction after my first fill. I lost my first 39 pounds without any restriction with just good ol' will power but it was tough.

All I can tell ya is walk, walk, walk.

Hang in there.. I understand how you feel it will be 7 months for me on Nov 15th and I've only lost about 38 lbs or so.. For the last 2 months I haven't lost anything.. thank God I didn't gain any.. I had my 3rd fill on Oct 26th. Lets encourage one another, it takes time, we didn't have gastric so everyone is different. Then I flip out when I read posts on here where people done lost 50 and 60 lbs by 6 months.. But I have to tell myself everyone is different.. Just know that you're not alone... I do know I cheat on sweets so that might be one of my issues.. I got the 100 calorie snack just in case I want something sweet.. the Lorna Doone just ate 1 about 10 minutes of go.. LOL...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
