Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Recommended Posts

HI EVERYONE! I am a fellow January Bandster and have a huge favor to ask. I've been posting for several weeks on this thread and am so excited to go through this journey with you. However....

I am being banded January 15th in Tijuana, MX. I am 28 and 230 starting with a goal of 130.

I know it is frowned upon, but as of now, I have decided not to tell anyone about this surgery. Because of that, I was wondering if there would be someone who would be willing to check on my throughout the travel and surgical process. I know we are pretty anonymous right now but I'd really appreciate it so I can have a little piece on mind.

I promise to eventually tell my sister but I'm just worried she will be upset with me so I want to tell her afterward.

Is there anyone willing to swap numbers and actually TALK and promise to stay in touch with me throughout the process? Yes, I will be in Mexico, but I will have my cell phone so it won't cost YOU anything, just me. Any takers??

Hey Mandy, my surgery is Jan. 12 so I don't know what I'll be feeling like just a few days afterwards, or otherwise, I'd be glad to exchange numbers and talk . .. hope someone else will offer to do this for you . . . please stay in touch and let us know how things are going for you -- pre- and post-op. GOOD LUCK! :(

Hi Everyone!

I am SO glad to have found this thread.

I get banded this coming Monday, January 11th. My surgeon did not require a liquid diet. I was just told to maintain my weight from my last appointment which was Thanksgiving week. Little problem called holiday eating has gotten in the way of me keeping that promise however. But I am eating healthy this week and trying to go into it in as good a shape as possible.

I look forward to checking back in here with you all.

Take care and best of luck everybody!!

Claricey

Thank you for taking the lead on this.

I'm really not thinking we need to take a poll, since we've had such a good response over.... drum roll please.... wait for it.. wait for it...

Jan Band Journeys

Anyone want to create us a sparklely little pretty signature piece? My photoshop crapped out on me and I haven't reinstalled it yet. Today was my last day off before I go for surgery next Wednesday so I doubt I will have time to do it.

I will however go and create us a link under the social groups so we can all check in after we've had our surgeries!!

AWESOME! I love it. You are so talented. Wish I knew how to do that kind of stuff.

I'm back to the surgeon today to see if my surgery is a go for the 18th. Keep your fingers crossed.

One week away - I'm scheduled for the 14th. Nervous? No. Anxious? No. Not yet, anyway. I did have moment of anxiousness when doing my pre-admit screening last week, but I'm okay. Doing the pre-op diet and actually doing okay with it. Right now I'm just ready to get past the surgery and start my new life!!!

Awesome graphic job!!

Starting day 5 of the pre-diet. 5, that means I'm half way through it! who-hoo. I have to work today and hope I don't go brain dead like I did Wednesday. I'm thinking I didn't have enough Protein and that just really worked problems with my brain function.

Hope everyone has a great day! It's snowing here so hopefully it won't be a full day at work.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
