CONFESSION-

My newest guilty pleasure is online "window shopping" for the clothes I will be buying when I start to lose. I know this is jumping the gun, but it is super exciting to think that 2010 will be the year I can finally wear that silky sexy backless dress from Victoria's Secret. Anyone else have a guilty pleasure they want to confess?? Vacation to plan, Sport to play, Swimsuit to wear, guy/girl to ask out, anyone else?? I'd love to hear it!

I actually bought a shirt yesterday that is too small but will fit after my surgery. I really don't want to spend money on the inbetween clothes though. I wanna save it for when I reach goal. I will be taking my clothes in as much as possible.

Btw....I am NOT telling most family and friends. My hubby and 11y/o know and my mother (since I will need a sitter for my 2y/o) I don't want to feel like I am under a microscope to lose weight and they are just waiting for me to fail, again:bored:.

Hey

I am not telling most of my family either. I have a sister in law who told the family one day her doctor told her she was "fat" cause she was up to 110. My surgery is 1/4 and I am new here. I start my pre op diet 12/20. No pigging out over the holidays for me.

I am not telling my family either. I feel like my weight is a private issue. I am having surgery 1/4 too. I have already started preop diet. It's just low carb. Then liquids 2 days prior. I did tell my MIL cause she lives with me. She freaked out. People don't understand unless they are in our shoes.

Well - I may get pushed back to Feb 2010. My psyc appointment is 1/12 and then all of my ekg, x-ray, blood work to follow. Then I have to take all of that to my PCP for him to clear it. He is not to excited about it. I don't know if it can all get done before January.

Just catching up on fellow January Bandsters.

I am trying to find liquid diet that does not taste so bad. I have tried the Muscle Milk and it has an awful aftertaste. My surgeon requires they have at 20 grams of Protein but less than 200 calories which rules out instant Breakfast or SlimFast shakes. I would appreciate any recommendations anyone has.

Unjury seems to be highly recommended. The pre-op plan from my Dr. uses it. My daily meal plan is 1000 cals, 115 grams protein, 125 grams carbs spread over 6 feedings.

1) 1 serving flavored Unjury with skim milk + 1/2 cup cream of wheat or oatmeal + 1 cup V-8 or Tomato juice

2) 1 cup sf pudding (1 serving of unflavored Unjury can be added)

3) 1 serving unflavored Unjury mixed with 8 oz Crystal Light + 6 oz Dannon Light n Fit

4) 1 serving sf Jell-O with or without Unjury added

5) 1 serving Unjury chicken Soup flavor + 1 up V-8 or tomato juice + 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

6) 1) 1 serving flavored Unjury with skim milk + 6 oz Dannon Light n Fit

Sounds exactly like my doc's diet. I'm having surgery at Grand Traverse Surgery w/ Dr. Nizzi

Hi Everyone,

I finally got a surgery date: January 14th, 2010! Boy has this been a long trip. Twenty five days away! I can hardly believe it. The entire process has taken me over a year.

Has anyone had to lose weight before surgery? At my last weigh-in I was about 250; I'm worried I've gained. The nurse said "well, don't gain weight, whatever you do." Then comes Halloween, Thanksgiving, and now, Christmas. Ugh. I know I have to start a liquid diet beginning Jan 5.

To the questions asked: I am 40, on insurance, and I'm doing this because I need more than a diet group to help me lose 100 lbs. I think we all have similar reasons.

If anyone has any pre-op advice for me, I'd be grateful!

Take care all -

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
