I just don't want to eat....

Recommended Posts

Ok, so help me out here please. I just don't want to eat anymore. I have problems getting all the Protein in, actually, I only get about 10% of the protein I am supposed to get everyday. It's just a chore for me to eat and I don't know how to get out of this habit I have started. Its like I have gone from overeating to just not being interested in food. Did anyone else go through this? Also, I can't seem to find the time in the day (being a working single mom and full time student) to make a Protein Shake. What should I do now? I feel like I have made a huge mistake because now its so crucially important for me to take care of myself and I can't seem to. HELP PLEASE!

You really need to get that Protein in! It's common for banders to have some Hair loss (among other issues) when you are not getting enough protein. Try Muscle Milk Light. I buy it by the case at Sam's Club, and each little juice box like carton is only 8.25 ounces, but 15 grams of protein, zero sugar, 5 grams carbs and only 100 calories. It tastes really good, too. No mixing or blending. I grab one on my way out the door often, and take them in a little lunch box/cooler on daytrips. My 12 year old son even loves them! Try to make every thing you eat or drink protein packed. If you can't make yourself eat much, what you do eat has to really count towards that protein goal. You are still early enough post surgery that you are still healing. Your appetite will get better. I had similar issues, but finding a few things that I really liked helped tremendously!

First off, STOP, take a breath, you can get through this.

I can somewhat relate. I can't seem to eat enough to cover all my daily requirements. Now for the bad news, my hair has been falling out for months. Not enough protein, you do not want that to happen to you.

The good news is you can buy pre made Protein drinks. I am using the EAS brand. I get it in BJ's (like a Costco) by the case. They come in 17 grams, 20 + grams (forgot the exact amount) and even 42 grams. This way I have no excuse not to get in my protein. They look like sipp ups and taste good. They are portable, so you can carry them in your handbag or car.

I haven't eaten Protein Bars, but I hear people enjoy them too, also portable.

Of course the best way to get your protein is to not only "eat it", but to sit down & enjoy your meal. That is the ideal. Life, on the otherhand sometimes gets in the way and we can't always do that.

Take your Vitamins religiously, try these shakes or any other brand of pre made(since you said you don't have time to make shakes), hopefully it helps.

This was not a mistake, your the conductor driving your train..it can be a ride to nirvana or a ride to nowhere.

We've all been nowhere. I wouldn't recommend it.

Much good luck to you!

Samantha :-)

hair falling out is bad BUT have you ever heard the word "malnutrition"? Get informed because that's where you're headed.

That's a good excuse...don't have time to make a Protein shake -- except that they come ready to drink in a lot of different brands. And a lot of them taste pretty decent. Something as easy as SlimFast Low Carb Diet (20 grams of Protein, 2 net carb grams). EAS, or Muscle Milk. All come in an RTD version.

They're better cold but a small soft side cooler can be had for very little money.

Samantha is so right. You are in control of this. Do not let excuses derail you.

i struggle eating at night...after i exercise i have no appetite at all...zero interest in food...usually people work up an appetite after a good work-out i'm the complete opposite...i always have something made...a cup of brisket or some egg salad...its crucial that u eat...u will not lose weight if ur body isnt getting enuff fuel.

Well I'm on the reverse of this thread. I have no idea what to do any more. I had my 5th fill Oct. 9th and had some restriction. Lost those awful 5 lbs that kept going and coming back. This week I have been getting in at least 80 grams of Protein a day. I started eating the Greek Yogurt with some of the suggestions that I have read on LBT:tt2:, the green Beans . Getting in the daily Water requirements and taking the Vitamins. I know that I don't exercise enough and most days not a all. After 8 hrs. of work and a 3 hr. commute, I'm tired.:seeya: How do you guys do it and what are you doing?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
