Where's the weirdest place you've had to slime?

Recommended Posts

Yes that is a disgusting topic I know. Sorry :-)

As much as I try not for it to happen, it does get me every once in a while. Yesterday it happened because I ate too much too fast and while I was driving home. I was juggling a bunch of things and trying to save time. The next thing I know, I had to pull over on the 4 lane highway I was driving on and let 'er rip along the side of the road. I wondered to myself as it was happening about how many other lap band patients find themselves along side a road every now "sliming."

Then I wondered about unusual places it's happened at so I posted this thread. This is meant as way to deal with the unpleasant part of it in a humorous way. I hope I don't offend anyone by posting this.

I have slimed in front of my car at a hotel where the parking lot faces a busy road in the city. Also slimed in some bushes in an artsy town where we were shopping. Other than that, inconspicuously in my glass of ice Water at the table at a restaurant when others were thinking I was taking a drink, I was actually spitting it out.

ALWAYS keep a small plastic container in your car - you never know when it may come in handy.

Sliming can happen when you eat too fast or take too big of a bite and you start to "super-salivate" but feel like if you swallow anything you're going to vomit. So, you start spitting anywhere you can until the feeling goes away or you pb (production burp - where you spit up your last swallow of food) or do the whole hurl.

the weirdest place for me was at the movie theatre. Me and my current boyfriend was on one of our first dates. I had just eaten and we were rushing to go to a movie. At the time I had not told him about the band. We were in line and I could fill it coming, but I was trying to make it on the inside to the restroom away from him. But something happened and I could barely make it to the trash can by the door. He was shocked and not sure what was happening so I could tell he freaked out a little. But he never said anything else abt it. I did not want to ever see him again, but fortunately a year later we are still together. After that I had to explain the whole band thing to him.

Mine wasn't so much wierd, as embarassing. The Fall Festival at my kids school. I had just arrived there, and was scheduled to work the bake sale. My daughter came over to me and had the best smelling french fries.. I ate one.. ONE.. and quickly realized it was a mistake. I sprinted into the school and paced around the little girls bathroom sliming. The feeling finally went away, and I don't think anyone realized what was going on, and I made it to my bake sale shift on time. It kind of worked out well though in the end, because I didn't TOUCH any of those baked goods.. that's for sure! And had I not gotten stuck, I bet I would have had a cookie or brownie.. who can resist home baked goods?

My very first time to slime was last night at our church fall festival. I didn't have time to eat dinner after work before we left for the festival and so I was starving. The only choice of food was pizza a BBQ sandwiches. I bought a sandwich and ate some of the meat. I guess I ate too fast and I had a horrible pain in my chest. This has happened at home a few times and I've taken a few Papaya pills and it went away. Unfortunately I didn't have any with me so I made the biggest mistake of my banded life. I tried to wash the stuck meat down with some Water. It was like a volcano. As soon as the water hit my stomach it came back up with vengeance. I jumped up to run to the bathroom but only made it to a grassy area outside the building. Of course several people kept asking me if I was OK. I just blew it off as if I had just strangled on the water. I didn't want to explain everything to people who don't even know about my band. I told myself I would never eat something new in public in case this happened, but I let my hunger override my good sense. I guess the band can't fix that problem.

I was at our semi-annual greyhound rescue picnic at the park. I was watching the merchandise tent and my hubby brought me a plate of food. I took one bite of meat (barbeque pork) and I think I took too big of a bite and it got stuck big time. The bathrooms were quite a ways away and I had to literally sprint to get to them. I was so embarrassed. There were loads of people milling around of course at the different tents with their dogs and I had to work my way around them and the dogs to get to the bathroom. Then, the bathrooms in the park of course weren't the greatest either. It was awful. I had to stick my finger down my throat to make the food come up. Yuck!

Walking down a very romantic lane in Paris - after a Thai / Chinese meal!

Very embarrassing- could not reach a garbage bin.

I guess people walking nearby thought I had a bit too much to drink :-(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
